The Opportunity

The primary purpose of the Designer is to support the development of creative assets for multimedia and graphics projects, including web, mobile apps, email, SMS, advertising, interactive displays, social media, direct mail, posters, signage, OOH, print ads, digital banner ads, animation, and video. Their work will contribute to the success of the digital marketing programs and advertising efforts for Grand Casino within the professional services department of Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV).

What You Get to DoCollaborate with the design team on project concepts, studying information and materials.Prepare work by gathering information and materials from key resources.Develop product illustrations, logos, and other graphics as needed.Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects.Maintain and provide oversight of brand consistency throughout all our marketing projects.Provide guidance and review the work of associate designers.Manage a heavy daily and weekly workload of promotional on-floor signage and collateral design, including digital signage, online creative, brochures, flyers, coupons, interior and exterior signage, posters, duratrans (backlit posters), multi-media presentations, websites, apps, email templates, social media, digital brand campaigns, video storyboards, Promo logo illustrations, and other emerging channels.Assist in maintaining positive working relationships with vendors.Deliver high-quality work, especially on tight deadlines.Work closely with the Database department to design monthly direct mail pieces and upload them to print vendor to ensure timely delivery to Guests.Develop and maintain awareness of mechanical and other job specifications for various communication mediums (e.g., various types of signage, coupons, etc.).Work with external vendors producing all print and collateral.Maintain and catalog all photography and completed jobs in an electronic format.Design other internal and external communications projects as requested by Advertising and Marketing Management.Take ideas from concept to execution, working with stakeholders, design colleagues, information technologists, and digital marketing experts to deliver an effective user experience.Present design concepts and provide advice and guidance on the aesthetic for campaigns, projects, and promotional events.Use the latest software and applications to design and develop digital solutions.Order graphic supplies as needed.Other duties as assigned that are related to this role.What We Look for in a Person

Proven expertise and proficiency in Mac software platform design layout programs:

Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and InDesign for graphic & digital design, animation, print production, and Figma.Typography: knowledge of appropriate typeface/font styles for designing effective advertising communications.

Technical degree from an accredited school for Graphic Design for the Computer Arts or college degree from an accredited four-year university with a major emphasis in Graphic Design.A minimum of three (3) years of corporate or agency experience designing advertising/marketing collateral with an emphasis on multichannel campaigns. Utilizing design layout programs: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and InDesign for graphic and digital design, animation, and print production.Figma or Adobe XD experience required.Pre-press knowledge of printing and production techniques for large format (posters, duratrans, etc.), small format (brochures, flyers, etc.), and direct mail print a plus.Illustration and Animation experience is a plus.Proof of Portfolio of work is absolutely required.Ability to perform well under changing priorities and tight deadlines.Strong organizational, time management, and communications skills.Must be able to secure a license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR's).Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.Must live within a three-hour radius of MLCV headquarters, which is located in Onamia, MN.
