Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience If you are a good match, make an application.Position OverviewThe Senior Communications & Legislative Program Associate helps manage the implementation of the Better World Campaign legislative agenda, advocacy work, and communications. This Senior Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Better World Campaign’s social media strategies. They will create, edit, and post web content to betterworldcampaign.org, the campaign’s primary social media outlets, and manage its email list. They will assist the Director, Content and Engagement Strategy, in developing new digital strategies to further BWC’s grassroots engagement and capture the attention of policymakers surrounding issue area priorities.Essential FunctionsContribute to developing and executing a comprehensive legislative agenda and strategy to support BWC’s mission and related programmatic goals under the direction of the Executive Director of the Better World Campaign.Track relevant hearings, legislation and legislative initiatives in Congress; provide background and suggested questions to Hill staff for UN related hearings.Assist with crafting the annual Congressional Briefing Book.Research and draft fact sheets/policy briefs/brochures to highlight compelling examples of UN work and importance of U.S.-UN relationship.Review UNA-USA materials and fact sheets for accuracy.Ensure day-to-day content and curation of BWC’s digital properties by creating social media content for all platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.Maintain an editorial calendar for social content posting and website content.Maintain the BWC website, including writing, editing, updating, and posting content.Assist in the set up, recording, and production of BWC video interviews.Act as BWC’s liaison with the events team and/or coordinate invitations, attendee lists, and logistics for BWC events.Develop monthly and quarterly reports on all BWC communications activities with direction and oversight from the Director, Content and Engagement Strategy.Manage BWC’s Google Adwords account.Under the supervision of the Director of Content and Engagement Strategy, develop strategies to build BWC’s email list and newsletter engagement.Assist with the preparation of speeches/talking points/blog posts for BWC events.Assist the Communications team with updating and editing the Better World Campaign website.Attend meetings between senior leadership and congressional offices.Contribute to fostering and building new relationships in support of BWC’s legislative agenda.Provide administrative support to senior leadership for meetings with U.S. and UN officials.Other responsibilities and tasks as necessary.Selection CriteriaBachelor's degree required; preferably in the fields of political science, international affairs, or communications.At least 3 years experience in legislative affairs, international relations, or a related field is required.Excellent oral, research, and writing skills.Hill experience or government relations experience is encouraged.Strong organizational skills and an understanding of administrative processes are essential.Team player willing to assist where needed.Experience with website design and Microsoft Access and Excel preferred.Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.Ability to work and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.Benefits & CompensationFor full-time, U.S. benefit eligible employees, UNF offers an excellent range of benefits, including:a choice between two health plans through UnitedHealthcare (PPO or HDHP with HSA)dental insurancevision insuranceflexible spending accounts403b retirement savings plan with a generous matching contributiongroup term and supplemental life insuranceshort-term disabilitylong-term disabilityhealth club discountscommuter subsidyback-up careemployee assistance programAdditionally, all benefit eligible employees have 12 paid holidays, 20 vacation days, 10 sick days, 3 personal days, and 8 weeks of family leave care.
