Intermediate Interior Designer

Please make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.A high-end Hospitality and Residential interior design firm in Los Angeles is seeking an Interior Design Associate to join their team. This is an opportunity to join a team of experienced and talented professionals who thrive on detail and collaboration. You will work directly with Senior Designers and have a significant impact creating quality and high-level spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in conceptual design of various hospitality and high-end residential projects.

Research and pricing of all interior design elements.

Material sourcing and room schemes.

Participate in meetings with firm principals and project managers.

Prepare proposals, purchase orders, and invoices.

Assist in preparing client presentations.

Transport and set up meeting materials.

Expedite orders and finish samples.

Actively participate in project installations.

Archive project materials and documents.

Work/assist on FF&E and architectural specifications as needed.

Material shopping when needed.

Space planning/Sketches for IFX sheets.

Sketches (free-hand).

Understand all aspects of architectural drawings.

Work with Senior designer/Project Manager on staffing, work plan, task assignment, and fee allocation.

Travel to project site may be required.

Specification writing and proofing.

Assemble material reference sheets and specification books.

Produce interior finish specifications.

Input finish numbers onto plans and elevations.

Input FF&E numbers onto plans.

Lighting layouts.

Preparation of meeting notes.

Review of shop drawings.

Knowledgeable about project when Senior Designer is out of the office.

Write design stories.

Sample and strike-off review.

Skills & Requirements:

BA or MA in Interior Design, Interior Architecture will be considered.

Experience in high-end private residential and/or hospitality.

Minimum of 5 years' professional experience.

Proficient in Photoshop and/or InDesign, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Working knowledge of Sketchup, Revit is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of local LA design industry and vendors is a plus.

Works well in a team-structured company.

Valid driver’s license and insured automobile with proof of insurance.

Understand all aspects of Architectural drawings.
