The Alexa Experiences & Services team is looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to work on Discovery and Onboarding features as well as other exciting Alexa projects. The Alexa Discovery and Onboarding designer will support the Alexa Customer Journeys team to create features that help customers learn all the ways they can use Alexa.

As a Senior UX Designer, you will work on cutting-edge Alexa features and revise existing features. You will create elegant, intuitive user interfaces that meet unique customer needs. You will work closely with other designers, researchers, product management, engineering, data science and operational teams to successfully go from early stage product concepts to iterations and launches of new features.

Key job responsibilities

Create world-class, user-centered designs through consideration of customer research, business requirements, technical considerations, and usability study findings, These experiences will bridge voice, multimodal, web, and mobile applications.

Collaborate directly with Conversation Designers and the Research team to ensure a consistent and delightful experience across all customer touch points

Partner with the Product Management team to translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements

Collaborate directly with Software Engineers to bring the resulting designs and vision to market

Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes

Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications

Present design work to the design team, product team, and leadership for review and feedback

A day in the life

Each day, you will connect and collaborate with designers and researchers across the Alexa team. You’ll work directly with product managers to understand requirements, and develop design concepts that will be reviewed with leadership. You’ll also work with software teams to deliver detailed visual and interaction specifications. While the environment will be fast-paced, you’ll always be embedded in a supportive community of team members who are ready to provide feedback and support. About the team

The Alexa Experiences and Services Design and Research group works on foundational and innovative Alexa experiences on Echo devices with screens, mobile apps (Alexa App), Fire TV, tablet and other devices. We’re a passionate group of designers and researchers dedicated to delighting Alexa users.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of design experience

Have an available online portfolio

Experience with Figma, Sketch, or their functional equivalents

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

Knowledge of usability principles and techniques

Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards

Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
