Boeing Commercial Airplanes (

) is seeking

Experienced Payload Engineers

to join our Interiors Responsibility Center South Carolina (

IRC

) Team or our 787 Interiors Program Team both of which are based in

North Charleston, SC

.

As a team member you will have the opportunity to manage systems associated with interior commodities on the 787. The selected candidate will have a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle: customer configuration development, supplier engagement, validation and verification of design requirements, integration of the design, production support, demonstrating compliance and supporting the airplane certification processes.

Working under minimal supervision, position responsibilities include the following:

Developing and maintaining engineering product definition.

Preparing design layouts and modifying existing designs.

Developing engineering product definition.

Developing statements of work, including design requirements, cost and schedule estimates.

Coordinate and develop work transfer packages.

Contribute to the integration of product definition across internal and external business partners to provide a functional end-product.

Investigate and resolve moderately-complex manufacturing process, or engineering related issues, verifying accuracy of engineering data produced by others.

The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in North Charleston, SC.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Associate’s degree + 3yrs; Bachelor’s degree + 1yr; or 5yrs related work experience

Experience in product definition, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.

Experience with 3-D modeling (CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro-E, 3DX, etc.)

Knowledge of design, production, assembly and validation processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Associate’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.

Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking.

Experience with the Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM)

Proficiency in CATIA V5

Experience using product lifecycle management software (Enovia, Team Center, etc.)

Ability to manage time in a way that consistently meets quality standards and deadlines

Experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent including designing to requirements and showing of compliance.

Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences and leadership levels.

Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development.

Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Salary:

$64,200 - $83,900
