Reporting to the Director of Design an Associate Creative Director is an integral part of the Marketing Brand & Creative team team, who mentors and collaborates closely with other creative disciplines and across BILL's Marketing org to develop impactful work that delivers strong business outcomes. An Associate Creative Director at BILL is responsible for driving fresh ideas, concepts, and design systems in the BILL brand, by thoughtfully and strategically acting as a creative lead in foundational work streams such as brand guidelines, style guides, and templates for the brand, and leading/delivering high-bar design for marketing assets across campaigns, collateral, email marketing, event signage, swag, and more. They contribute to, interpret, and deliver upon strategic creative briefs for complex and large projects; seek and share necessary information from stakeholders and partner teams, determine best design approaches for achieving results, and coordinate contributions from creative team members.

In addition to hands-on design development, an Associate Creative Director may act as a liaison between a Creative Director and/or stakeholders and the active work team, working to clarify top-level creative expectations, crystalize a shared vision, organize and strategize creative presentations, and provide supportive creative feedback and direction across disciplines (design, copy, photography, etc.) through the life of a project. They propose and drive programs and processes which reduce operational redundancies and drive the Marketing organization's strategic goals, and actively network and conduct cross-team share-outs which help others understand how creative as a whole contributes to strategic business goals. Associate Creative Directors are collaborative creative leaders, driving a creative culture of excellence and growth, including identifying conflict and fostering resolution, mentoring peers and junior members of the creative team and beyond.

Key responsibilities include interfacing with internal business partners throughout various departments to:Act autonomously as a creative lead throughout fast-paced creative workflows to deliver high-bar and impactful creative marketing assets, while balancing business needs with technical and creative constraintsInterpret and contribute to strategic briefs, evaluating and proposing multiple concepts and creative approaches inline with business needs (to be executed by them and/or other creatives), iterate creative execution inline with stakeholder feedback, and drive delivery of final creative assetsSuccinctly and professionally present work, logic, and feedback openly to senior leadership and stakeholders across Marketing and other BILL organizations, explaining changing priorities and using compelling arguments to convey conclusions and ideas. Ask clarifying questions, interpret feedback for others, and propose, lead, and/or own the development of solutions to address efficiently.Maintain and share up-to-date expertise and best-practices relevant to common workstreams and/or touchpoints. Seek and share similar information from regular stakeholders and partners.Anticipate, flag, and propose solutions to avoid potential bottlenecks and roadblocks, and communicate project status with Project Managers regularlyEstablish mechanisms to actively maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to better understand their collaboration needs, concerns, and roadmaps. Identify conflict, lead steps and dialog to resolve, and incorporate learnings into processes to mitigate future conflictManage and strategically iterate creative approaches, continually elevating personal creative bar and output, and driving elevated creative bar of the team. Actively identify areas for improvement across the team's output, and develop tools to bring the team's body of work up to high-bar.Actively manage personal career development, including defining and tracking quarterly goals, and seeking feedback around job expectations, performance, and promotion cadence. Independently identify "stretch" opportunities and initiate engagement and planning.Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:

Developing and leading the development of creative campaigns from start to finishExecuting brand and marketing assets with expert use of typography and layout across all platforms, including: social media campaigns, digital ads, website and landing pages, print collateral, presentation decks, eBooks and email templatesDefining, building, and maintaining brand systems across marketing materialsGuiding the incorporation of motion design into creative campaignsCollaborating within cross-functional marketing teamsPresenting creative work to stakeholders both within and outside of the marketing departmentExcelling in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentMentoring junior designers and peersWe'd love to chat if you have:

At least eight years of visual design experience in an in-house creative studio or agency, including 2+ years of experience leading projects and campaignsAn exceptional portfolio showcasing integrated campaign design, typography, and visual design skillsStrong conceptual abilities and a talent for storytellingTechnical motion design skills would be advantageousA good understanding of business priorities and how to manage internal constraintsWillingness to receive feedback and an ability to thoughtfully and clearly deliver feedback to othersExceptional communication skills, able to clearly convey design intent, advocate for their work, and suggest alternative ideas to peers and managersCommitted to maintaining a high standard of creative quality for themselves and others, while always striving to find the best solution to meet company goalsThe ability to work independently as well as part of a teamStrong organizational skills, collaborative mindset, and adept at working cross-functionally.#LI-CG1

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL's bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

$97,200-$121,100 USD
