GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Audio and Video Production Manager plays a critical role in the technical execution of municipal meetings, ensuring high-quality audio, video production, and live streaming. This role requires an experienced professional passionate about capturing and delivering compelling content that aligns with the city's mission and branding. They will manage all technical aspects of sound engineering, video production, and live streaming for city events, meetings, and other public communications. This role requires a dynamic individual passionate about visual storytelling and committed to maintaining the city's brand identity across all media channels. In addition to municipal events, they will be responsible for live streaming large-scale citywide events, including, but not limited to, Juneteenth and State of the City. The Visual and Digital Media Manager will be key in elevating the city's image and engaging with the community through impactful visual content.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

Audio Engineering:Set up, operate, and maintain sound equipment for city meetings and events.Ensure optimal sound quality, manage audio feeds, and troubleshoot any issues during live events.Record and edit audio content for archival and broadcast purposes.Video Production:

Plan, produce, and direct video content for municipal meetings and events.Operate and maintain video equipment, including cameras, switchers, and monitors.Edit video footage for live streaming, broadcasts, and recorded archives.Live Streaming:

Set up and manage live streaming equipment and software.Ensure seamless live streaming of city meetings and events on various platforms.Monitor live streams to ensure quality and address any technical issues in real time.Technical Coordination:

Collaborate with city officials, public relations teams, and external vendors to meet all technical needs.Coordinate logistical aspects of audio and video production, including setup and teardown of equipment.Maintain and update digital asset libraries for audio and video content.Quality Assurance:

Ensure all audio and video content aligns with the city's branding and communication strategy.Regularly review and solicit feedback on produced content to ensure it meets quality standards.Stay current with advancements in audio and video technology to enhance production quality.Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with the design and layout of multimedia materials for city communications.Create and manage multimedia projects using project management software.Perform other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree in Television Production, Multimedia, Sound Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in audio engineering, video production, and live streaming.Possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License in good standing.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS REQUIRED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro/Final Cut X).Experience with DSLR cameras, video, audio, and lighting equipment.Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.Creative, innovative, and detail-oriented mindset.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse team members.Proven track record of managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently and perform tasks involving numerous details.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, and representatives from other City departments, public officials, and the general public.This is a full-time position with irregular hours; evening and weekend work will be required.

Physical Requirements:

Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderate weight, up to 50 pounds. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation, extended standing, walking, and moving periods.
