Job Summary:

Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) is searching for a highly qualified Marketing and Communications Associate to join its corporate team. UIC is the Alaska Native Corporation for Utqiaġvik, Alaska. We're one of Alaska's top 10 companies with approximately 4,000 employees nationwide and annual revenues above $800 million.

The Marketing and Communications Associate will help to facilitate business growth and create brand awareness through unified marketing and communications efforts that are delivered in accordance with the company's strategic plan and organizational strategy.

With that central purpose in mind, responsibilities include: providing support to UIC's marketing and communications on all aspects of projects; developing and producing marketing collateral; creating, tailoring and sourcing UIC's website content; print, web and social media initiatives; coordinating promotional activities and events; sourcing edits and approvals, and fostering collaboration and ownership among those who contribute to all UIC communications.

This is a highly interactive, hands-on position which will coordinate directly with the Director of Corporate Marketing and Communications and other corporate departments and subsidiaries. Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:

The company's growth and reputation is dependent upon its communication, marketing, and branding efforts. Consequently, the Marketing and Communications Associate must possess and demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following:

Creating and developing marketing collateral and communications in Adobe Creative Suite, including company literature, corporate identity pieces, advertisements, presentations, newsletters, annual reports, various graphics, news releases, website content and other materials.Assisting in the planning and execution of overall marketing and communications programs and strategies.Drafting feature and editorial articles along with a range of business communications for print and electronic publications.Ensuring company branding and graphic identity is maintained along with quality standards; and applying corporate standards to different mediums, including print, web, social media, etc.Developing and coordinating promotional activities, including client meetings, company sponsored events, and tradeshows.Maintaining online content including external websites and internal employee portals to ensure usability, functionality, and relevance.Assisting in theme and content development for a variety of projects.Preparing briefing and communications materials for Executive Management staff.Copyediting, proofreading, and revising marketing and communications materials.Maintaining inventory of company promotional materials.Monitoring processes and implementing improvements to enhance marketing productivity.Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field. Experience of comparable value may be substituted for the degree requirement.Five years of experience as professional in marketing, public relations, or communications-related position that includes:

Demonstrated growth of responsibilities.Knowledge and use of APA style and grammar guidelines.Experience with html, WordPress content management systems (CMS), Microsoft SharePoint and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook).Supporting website management and maintaining website content.Developing and executing corporate branding.Supporting publishing of newsletters.Event management, from planning, preparation, to execution.

Proficient in graphic design through the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat).Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel).Authorized Driver Requirement:

Employee must possess a valid driver license and pass Smith Driver Training within one year of hire.Individuals with one or more serious violations (DUI/DWI) shall not be authorized to drive vehicles, including company, personal or rental cars to conduct company business.Employee must follow the UIC Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs:

Work Environment & Conditions:

This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska, with travel to Utqiaġvik, Alaska, statewide, and throughout the Lower 48 as needed. Typical office setting in a large office building. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require frequent standing and walking. Occasional travel to Construction Site Settings. May be subject to environmental conditions of a general office setting/construction setting.

Travel:

Frequent work-related travel by air.
