HDR is currently seeking a qualified candidate to assist with site selection, environmental permitting and AutoCAD Civil 3D support. The position is to be filled in Charlotte, NC. The selected candidate will support a variety of projects including, power, renewables, environmental permitting and design concepts. The candidate is expected to be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate will also need to be familiar with general civil engineering concepts such as topographic design, land development standards along with state and municipal review processes. The ideal candidate will be interested in working on a variety of projects and be able to coordinate between multiple groups and have excellent communication skills. In addition, the candidate is expected to be familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D and be able to create preliminary concept drawings with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain. Candidates hired without their EIT certification will have the title of Designer.Able to work efficiently in AutoCAD Civil 3DSelf-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a taskAbility and interest to work on various types of projects and perform multiple roles depending upon the project needStrong conceptual, organization, problem solving and research abilitiesAbility to work outside on uneven terrain under variable weather conditionsLand development backgroundExperience creating erosion control plansExperience with environmental permittingExperience in developing standards for client needsQualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering fieldStrong written and verbal communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
