The

Telecommunications Specialist will provide support in the installation, repair and maintenance of the organization-wide Telecommunications systems, and its voice and data local area networks.

What You'll Do:

Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain JRI's telecommunications equipment that supports end users throughout the organization.Provide training for new users and trainings on advanced features and functionality for designated advanced users.Determine appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications including call switches, test trunks and test links, and install communication circuits.Is familiar with multiple information and communications systems, including but not limited to, Analog and Digital Voice, Voice over IP, WAN/LAN topography and equipment, Imaging, and Office Automation.Maintain recovery plans in the event of power failure, damage to telecommunications and other systems, and facilitate correction of any system failures.Maintain, and communicate telecom systems' documentation, policies, and procedures.Install, troubleshoot, and repair, JRI's voice and data, local area networks.Serve as a member of the Corporate IT Team in support of Telecommunications, and to assist in the support of local area networks.Check and respond to all assigned telecommunications iSupport requests for assistance.Why JRI?

Associate's degree or its equivalent in the field or in a related area is preferred.Applicant should possess 3 to 5 years of experience, with increasing responsibility in the installation, maintenance, and repair of voice and data structured cabling systems, AV systems, door control systems, video surveillance systems, and with Digital, VoIP on premise, and Cloud-based telecommunications systems.Possess knowledge of standard telecommunications concepts, practices, and procedures.Possess an understanding of cloud architecture and a good grasp of networking and virtualization. Some understanding of Microsoft's Active Directory and Teams Environment is preferred.Experience with exposure to shared and outsourced solutions and support of in-house communication systems in a multi-site environment.Experience with office productivity software programs and proprietary communications software.Possess trade-specific hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and specialty tools that are necessary to perform the duties of the Telecommunications Specialist.Current driver's license and access to reliable transportation. Clean driving record is required.Travel to JRI Program sites in MA, RI, and CT will be required.
