About Us:

Meals on Wheels Orange County is the largest nonprofit provider of nutrition and supportive services for at-risk older adults in Central and North Orange County. Our mission is to combat hunger and loneliness among older adults through nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks and to support families through day services. Annually, we deliver nearly 2 million meals to 20,000 at-risk older adults.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $101,000 annually (Salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience) This position is eligible for a $2,500.00 discretionary annual bonus based on achieving measured performance goals and contributions to agency financial goals.

JOB SUMMARY: T he Director of Marketing & Events is a crucial member of the Advancement team at Meals on Wheels Orange County, reporting to the Senior Director of Development (SDOD). This role plays a vital part in the organization's growth by developing fundraising events, communication strategies, increasing brand awareness, and enhancing public perception of Meals on Wheels OC. The Director of Marketing & Events will oversee social media accounts, digital marketing efforts, advancement events, the annual and third-party Marketing/PR firm and Development Associate. Additionally, they will implement strategies to integrate fundraising efforts and drive revenue growth.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, self-management, discretion, leadership, and judgment in working with donors and handling sensitive and confidential information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and mentor the Development AssociateManage strategy, content, and collateral for print and digital marketing including but not limited to company website, email campaigns, newsletters, events, annual giving program and other fundraising and marketing effortsManage the annual marketing/development calendar in coordination with the SDOD and Vice President of Advancement, (VP)In partnership with the Senior Director of Development SDOD and VP, manage and execute digital fundraising appeals (emails, social media ads, etc.), including those for annual fund, annual giving program and other special appealsManage social media accounts and engage constituents on social media platforms, including paid ads and boosts on Facebook, Instagram and other channelsManage and monitor digital revenue, email metrics, and data to identify areas of improvement and maximize fundraising effortsAnalyze patterns, trends, and insights to make recommendations for enhancing marketing strategiesCollaborate with various departments to align initiatives with organizational goals and find areas of improvement to exceed fundraising goalsMonitor email list health, bounce rates, and unsubscribe trends, and suggest improvements and strategies to ensure growth and retentionDesign marketing materials and create/edit videos for development, programmatic, and marketing purposesOversee campaign messaging and development articles for newsletters and digital appeals in partnership with the SDOD and VPWork closely with donors and sponsors to recognize their contributions and ensure a positive experience during eventsManage the planning, coordination, and execution of non-profit events, including fundraisers, community outreach programs, workshops, and awareness campaignsIn partnership with the VP and SDOD develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and maximizing fundraising potential and ROIManage annual reviews of events, social media, and mailings based on fundraising and community impact to ensure growth and fundraising revenueOther duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree preferred4+ years of professional marketing, events and/or fundraising experienceProficiency in Microsoft Suite, Canva.com or other design software, social media analytics and schedulers, brand/content/email management tools, etc.Experience and knowledge of social media marketing and best practices in a nonprofit settingExperience in design, photography, and video editingHigh-energy professional with a positive attitude and strong initiative to build new relationships and foster a collaborative approach with team membersDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment with the skills to establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve stated goalsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skillsAbility to attend functions/activities outside normal business hoursEnjoyment in working with a diverse range of donors, older adults, volunteers, and community partners.Exemplifies Meals on Wheels OC’s organizational values of compassion, integrity, respect, excellence, communication, and innovationPHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Able to lift up 50 lbs without assistanceMust be able to lift 25 pounds and may be required to stand for extensive lengths of time.Able to see close up, moderate and long distances with or without accommodationThe position uses most the senses, tactile, temperature sensitivity, hearing, seeing, and smelling.Excellent Fine motor skill manipulation for typingSitting for an extended period of time.
