Job Goal:

The Director of Marketing oversees the Region 4 Marketing team while also developing and implementing annual marketing plans that support and align with Region 4's strategic goals. This individual will be responsible for leading and managing successful product development and multi-channel sales and marketing initiatives to increase revenue year over year, as well as raising brand awareness.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field

Experience:
  1. Seven years of related experience working in the area of marketing
  2. Three years of experience leading and supervising staff, including motivating team members, fostering collaboration, and driving results in a face-paced, dynamic environment
  3. Strong track record of success in developing and managing complex, multi-channel marketing projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  4. Experience in advertising, sales, or business, preferred


Special Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, present compelling arguments, and influence stakeholders.
  2. Expert proficiency in a variety of software programs, primarily Microsoft 365, Adobe Suite, Canva, project management systems.
  3. Proficiency in digital marketing channels and strategies, including paid/organic social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and marketing automation platforms.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, external partners, customers, and stakeholders.
  5. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to leverage insights from market research, customer data, and performance metrics across different channels to inform strategic decision-making and optimize marketing efforts.
  6. Agility and adaptability to navigate change and ambiguity, with the resilience to overcome challenges and drive continuous improvement, including developing new systems, processes, and workflows.
  7. Exemplary strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to design and operationalize comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals and market trends.


Major Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and operationalize innovative marketing strategies tailored to Region 4's unique objectives, including conferences, products, and services, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.
  2. Regularly analyze marketing performance metrics, prepare insightful reports, and deliver impactful presentations to senior leadership, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  3. Proactively identify untapped market segments, conduct thorough market research, and nurture valuable customer leads to drive sustained growth and expansion opportunities.
  4. Collaborate closely with fellow directors and team members across departments to ensure seamless development, successful launch, and effective promotion of products and services, consistently meeting and exceeding annual targets.
  5. Oversee the strategic enhancement and regular updates of the organization's websites (including e-commerce), spearheading projects to optimize user experience, enhance brand visibility, and drive conversion.
  6. Develop and direct a comprehensive social media strategy across all platforms, overseeing content creation, community engagement, and brand reputation management to effectively reach and resonate with target audiences.
  7. Collaborate with the executive team, actively contributing insights and expertise in leadership team meetings to inform strategic decision-making and drive organizational growth initiatives.
  8. Effectively manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and fostering mutually beneficial collaborations to achieve shared goals.
  9. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning within the marketing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to nurture talent and drive individual and team growth.
  10. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies, conducting ongoing market analysis to identify new opportunities and anticipate shifts in consumer behavior.
  11. Develop, monitor, and optimize departmental budgets


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise Marketing department personnel, including completing evaluations and conducting staff training.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/ Mental Demands:

Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
