The Senior Producer position at Space City Home Network Southwest will help define both the production strategy and high-level goals for Houston Astros and Houston Rockets live game productions. This position aims to entertain and inform viewers while also creating and executing compelling content.
SCHN is the regional sports network that serves the southwest and is the television home of the Houston Astros and Houston Rockets.

Position will work in an office and stadium environment (both indoors and outdoors). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time as well as stand; walk; or crouch; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision. The position may be required to lift and carry up to 20lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel
Travel may be expected in this role.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for producing compelling & entertaining content, including but not limited to Astros and Rockets games and one-off specials. Display strong judgement and familiarity with the Houston market and be able to change ideas quickly and calmly as the game warrants.
- Determine the sequence and flow of the broadcast. Generate ideas, format material, execute graphics, and select video packages and sound bites throughout the game to push storylines. Take show from concept to completion.
- Must possess strong leadership within a remote production truck and handle the unpredictability of a live show production.
- Write engaging opens and teases and accurate, interesting, and clear copy.
- In conjunction with the Executive Producer,& Coordinating Producer, plan guest appearances and specialty elements within shows.
- Find creative and compelling ways to present storylines using graphics, replays and other production elements.
- Communicate with the Pre/Post producer to identify engaging web and social media content. Strong ability to produce content that appeals to all platforms a must.
- Prepare Talent for broadcast through constant communication and pre-game meetings.
- Ability to work with sales to maximize and execute sold elements in the game broadcast.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Five years of live remote producing experience is required.
- Ability to make quick decisions under extreme deadlines and keep pace with fast moving shows
- College degree preferred.
- Must be able to handle confidential, privilege and or sensitive information.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, effective communication skills and proven leadership both in and out of the production truck.
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
- Willingness to travel.
- Available to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays
