Job Description

Customs Entry Writer responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:Tracks inbound freight and prioritizes documents to ensure timely entry filingPrepares and submits timely and compliant customs entries using CargoWise OneMakes corrections and updates to entries as necessaryPrepares and executes billings for entry related servicesDetermines tariffs and duty payments, tracks shipments and uses parts tables and the HTS to classify shipmentsEnsures all government required forms and information are compliant and provided timelyResolves both internal and external customer issues timely, accurately and professionallyWorks closely with other departments, including sales, to develop new sales leadsWorks with transportation agents, Customs Border Patrol (CBP) and others to resolve problems pertaining to custom entriesStays up-to-date on all customs procedure changesPerforms additional duties as assigned by management.Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High school Diploma or GEDAssociates Degree with relevant import/export experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred2+ years' experience processing import entry transactionsAbility to handle processing complex customs entries within strict time constraintsStrong verbal and written communicate and comprehension skillsStrong organizational and detail skills with ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload and adapt to changes to meet business needs and customer expectationsAbility to problem-solve and manage complex transactional and emotional customer situations promptly and professionally while achieving commitments for service and assistanceStrong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workloadAbility to read, write, and speak English fluently; bi-lingual Spanish preferredPrevious Cargowise One software experience a plusAbout Us
