Ottawa University (established in 1865), one of the oldest private liberal arts universities in the United States, is a multi-campus system serving approximately 4000 students through its campuses in Kansas (Ottawa, Kansas- Residential Campus and Overland Park, Kansas- Adult Programs); Arizona (Surprise Residential Campus and OUAZ Adult Programs); Wisconsin (Brookfield Adult Programs); and our OU ONLINE PROGRAM based out of Overland Park, Kansas.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leading the OU Online unit regarding strategic marketing initiatives, with a priority to digital marketing, through a collaborative approach, to effectively develop, design, and implement the marketing investment and initiatives on behalf of key internal and external constituencies. This role is essential for promoting our educational programs and events, engaging our diverse audience, and driving growth through creative digital marketing strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

General Management:Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of community engagement efforts and their impact.Organize and lead regular relevant OU Online team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities.CDE Team Management:

Effectively manage the Community Development Executive team assuring strategic priorities, community work and engagements, and community/prospective student opportunities are all aligned with our designated branding and in recruitment for OU Online.Develop and implement long-term strategies and goals for community development in alignment with the institution's mission and strategic plan.Assist with the identification of and pursuit of new opportunities for community partnerships and initiatives for the OUOL sites (KS, WI, AZ).Work with CDE's to increase representation at OUOL campuses, at community events, meetings, and other public forums to promote engagement and partnership.Communicate the goals, activities, and outcomes of community development initiatives to institutional leadership, staff, and other internal stakeholders.Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of community development programs and activities.Work with the team to prepare detailed reports on outreach, partner outcomes and community impact for internal and external stakeholders.Maintain accurate and up to date records of community, corporate and educational partnerships, program activities, and outcomes.Social Media Management:

• Responsible for the design, development, and management of OUOL's social media presence.

Create and implement social media strategies to boost engagement and grow our audience.Performance Analysis:

Assess the performance of all digital marketing and various institutional campaigns.Generate performance reports and keep leadership updated on trends and key data critical to the institution.Identify trends and optimize spending and performance based on data insights.Strategic Growth:

Develop innovative growth strategies utilizing digital marketing techniques.Continually explore and apply new methods to reach and engage target audiencesCollaboration and Communication:

Proactively lead and effectively communicate with leadership and a diverse range of audiences.Working closely with Ottawa University marketing, leads at other campus locations to ensure alignment with the institution's branding and marketing goals.Collaborate with academic teams and student services units to ensure cohesive messaging and promotion.Work closely with the President and adapt to a fast-paced environment.A self-starter, comfortable with leading and marketing through various channels, including but not limited to, social media, SMS messaging, e-mail, video, podcasts, website, etc.Content Creation:

Collaborate with various departments to develop a content calendar and messaging strategy.Assist with website updates and review for content refresh.Responsible for writing, editing, and publishing engaging, audience-focused content on the institution's website and social media platforms.Assist in capturing and writing stories that showcase the institution's impact, achievements, and student success stories.May assist with presentations and institutional reports.Event Marketing:

Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to promote university events.Coordinate closely with academic teams and student services units to ensure effective and cohesive event promotion.Newsletter Management:

Assist in the coordination and production of the institution's newsletter.Ensure the newsletter content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with the institution's branding and messaging.Vendor Coordination:

Collaborate with marketing vendor partners to ensure the effective execution of marketing strategies.Manage relationships with external vendors to optimize marketing efforts and resources.Other duties as assignedSTANDARD UNIVERSITY EXPECTATIONS:

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

(education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity): Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree or related work experience required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: ( experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity)5 or more years of leadership/management experience; 10 years related work experience.
