Why You'll Love This Job

As a Director of Product Marketing, you'll define and create the product marketing function at Apptegy. You'll deeply understand the role of school leaders at all levels as well as those they serve including students, families, staff, and teachers. This position will be a true force multiplier, responsible for helping marketing drive demand, helping sales to close more deals, delivering even more satisfied customers (we have an exceptional retention rate already), and supporting all internal functions with being aligned on product launches. This is an individual-contributor position reporting to the head of marketing with an opportunity to hire and build a team over time.

What You'll DoCompany readiness for product and feature launches: Improve our whole company readiness process to get internal alignment, excitement, and effective execution on product launches.Clear and consistent positioning: Create and refine messaging for our company, each product, business issue, and buyer persona that articulates "why change, why now, why us"; train and certify on messaging so that it is adopted cross-functionally and used consistently.Expertise in customer, regulatory, and market needs: Conduct market, regulator, and customer research (e.g., surveys, interviews, sales/marketing data) and distill it into insights on buyer personas, buyer journey, and buyer needs.Improve competitive win rates: Become an expert on the competitive landscape and develop strategies, tools, and training to help sales and marketers differentiate and defend.Make others more effective: Support our marketing and sales teams with messaging for collateral, web, content, and lead generation programs; contribute to or develop compelling content that generates interest and drives the adoption of new features. Support sales and customer success with enablement, sales tools, and assets (e.g., ROI, slides, sales proposals and RFP templates, solution discovery, scripts, and objection handling).Refine our Go-to-Market Planning: Research and get alignment on go-to-market plans for new segments and markets.Who You Are

4+ years of B2B Product Marketing experience in SaaSIn-depth, hands-on experience with all core product/solution marketing functions - positioning, pricing, packaging, go-to-market planning, sales enablement, market research, competitive intel and product launchIdentify connections between problems and solutions that others missA subject matter expert in the products you support, but simplify this abundance of knowledge into simple, compelling messages that resonateBuild trust with colleagues, customers, and market influencers by being informed, humble, and helpful, and by adding valueStrong communication skills and possess a high level of integrity and judgment; you are a tireless, motivated, confident, and determined professionalDemonstrated success in past leadership roles - leading and mentoring teams as well as growing revenueTake initiative and lead with the understanding that product marketing is a support role focused on enhancing the effectiveness of others. Your primary function is to empower and elevate the team, deriving your energy and motivation from the overall success of the team and company, rather than seeking personal recognitionAbility to delve into detailed tasks when necessary, including writing product launch emails, editing quote templates, and creating in-product cross-sell adsHighly collaborative, strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and ability to develop positive and productive working relationships across our organizationYou thrive on data and thirst to gather qualitative, quantitative, and anecdotal evidence to drive home key value propositionsThe executive team trusts you because you use data to make informed decisions and drive results; you are unafraid to experiment and fail, seeing it as an opportunity to learn and continuously improveExpertise in K-12 is strongly preferredPrior experience in high-growth companies with an established suite of productsStrong written communication skills and ability to work between teams and departments
