Job Description
Position Overview: Provide substation protection and control design, technical support, and coordination to a transmission substation engineering and design team for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality design and drafting projects. Provide technical competency on complex problems for projects including a wide range of utility substation projects, battery energy storage systems, and solar collector substations.
Duties & Responsibilities Understanding of protection and control designs as they apply to utility substation and transmission line equipment. Experience in reading and interpreting P&C design packages, including one- and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, panel drawings, and wiring diagrams Create substation P&C design drawings from client standards and industry best practices for substation P&C projects Ability to interpret written specifications and implement them in engineering drawings Collaborate, communicate, and liaise effectively with other design disciplines Visit sites, advise on P&C design issues Requirements
2-4 Year(s) experience in CAD Design Proven Autocad and/or Microstation skills Other Skills/Abilities
Effective oral and written communication skills Self-Motivated Work independently Team-Oriented Customer Oriented Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds Think both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems Desired Qualifications
Experience in the utility industry
