ABOUT THE ROLE

ADWEEK’s award-winning branded content studio is seeking a Writer & Editor to craft innovative, insightful, and creative narratives for our programs. If you are an experienced writer and editor with a background in the publishing industry, possess a strong foundation in editing and reporting, and has experience doing this type of work within the digital marketing and technology space, this opportunity could be a fit for you!

The ADWEEK Branded content studio creates thought leadership and explainer content for a wide range of clients looking to reach the top brand marketers, agencies and publishers who read ADWEEK. The Writer & Editor will be a key member of the team, using their experience to help lead our content executions and ensuring their high-quality, informative, and serve the needs of both our readers and sponsors.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO

  • Writing: You’ll be responsible for content execution on a variety of projects including long-form features, reports, guides, thought leadership bylines, video scripts, social copy and more for our marketing professionals.
  • Editing: You’ll put your editing skills to work by reviewing and revising contributed content and ensuring it’s on-message and insightful.
  • Working with freelancers: You’ll work alongside a network of freelance contributors on a variety of assignments and will contribute to building out the studio’s list.
  • Creative ideation: You’ll develop and pitch one-of-a-kind projects that help our clients tell incredible stories that resonate with our audiences. Your creative brainstorming skills enable you to take great ideas and bring them to life.
  • Project management: You’ll work with content studio producers to keep programs on time and on budget.

To qualify and to be considered for this position, you should have experience in:

  • Writing and editing experience at a publisher. Experience writing about brand marketing/advertising and an interest in the technology that powers it today is a plus.
  • Writing experience that enables you to turn complex topics into engaging and practical content. Much of what the content studio develops is “explainer” content, so skill in that area is critical.
  • The ability to deliver creative content that can represent a sponsor’s point of view while remaining informative and useful for our audience.

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • At minimum, 3-5 years of experience as an editor, writer, or reporter, either for a publisher (e.g., website, magazine, newspaper), agency or brand
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to collaborate closely with studio members and teams across ADWEEK
  • A positive, solutions-first attitude and, of course, a sense of humor
  • Pitching content ideas to clients is key, so take a moment and pitch yourself, as well as your portfolio, to us.
  • A keen attention to detail ensures content is accurate, deliverables are met on time and projects launch successfully.

  • Location: ADWEEK is based in Midtown Manhattan. The position will require you to work in a hybrid capacity.
