The Technologist - Snacks

will be responsible for the sourcing, testing and application of seasonings and flavor across the Campbell Snacks portfolio. This means working on salty and savory snacks such as Kettle Chips and Goldfish crackers as well as sweet treats such as Milano cookies and Swirl bread.

Bring your working knowledge and understanding in areas of food science and snack food development to Campbell's where you will be instrumental in creating food our consumers love.

In this role you will report to the Senior Manager - Flavor Design.

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Food Sciences, Science or Engineering.1 year experience in a consumer-packaged goods backgroundPreferred Qualifications:

Experience with flavor or seasoning application is preferred.Must be highly detail oriented and organized.Ability to handle a dynamic work environment to manage multiple simultaneous projects.A passion for innovation and food with a flair for questioning the status quo. We want someone who questions the "why" or the "how."Ability to think beyond his or her own (R&D) function to consider the organization holistically.Must be comfortable with taking charge and prioritizing your own workload.Essential responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Maintains electronic lab notebook of project information such product information, usage rates, solubility, adhesion, and any other details pertinent to the success of the project.Applies seasoning and flavors to a variety of food substrates (salty snacks, cookies, crackers, bread etc.)Clearly communicates findings with the Flavor Design Lead and R&D stakeholders on an ongoing basis.Conducts and leads prototype assessments with cross functional project teams on an ongoing basis.Captures feedback and communicates next steps to Flavor Design Lead and/or internal and external stakeholders.Conducts physical measurements of seasoning and liquid flavors in support of innovation, manufacturing, and quality initiatives.Manages and builds key databases related to Flavor Design:

Independently directs outside flavor vendors regarding ingredient optimizations, sample timing and communicates challenges to the Flavor Design Lead.Logs incoming flavor, seasoning and food preparations on an ongoing basis.Request and maintains a stock of "base food" for internal and external application work.Participation in our Campbell Snacks growth culture by participating in flavor/seasoning specific training and commercialization support.Job Complexity

Anticipated travel of up to 15% which may include the following:

Domestic US - Flavor & Seasoning Vendors locations, Research Kitchens, Manufacturing Plants (Campbell Soup Company (CSC) and co-manufacturers and vendors.

Ability to stand at a bench up to 50% of the time.Ability to work in an environment that is highly aromatic including aromas that may at times be pungent or off-putting.Handle allergens that may include dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, eggs and other food ingredients, chemicals and allergens while wearing appropriate PPE and under proper engineering controls.Willingness and ability to taste and evaluate a wide range of food products and ingredients with ability to taste sweet, sour, salty, bitter, heat and umami.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between$47,600-$79,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
