The Disability Allies is a nonprofit organization with the mission of connecting young adults with and without disabilities. In order to accomplish this goal, we will help our participants improve their social skills and partner with community organizations to plan social events. Our events are open to anyone that has a disability, knows someone with a disability, or is supportive of people with disabilities.

Position Summary:The Disability Allies (DA) is dedicated to providing social opportunities to connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. The Event Planner reports to the Director and is responsible for the planning and organization of our events and managing our event registration. The title of the position is subject to change before being hired.Responsibilities:Organize and coordinate our monthly eventsAddress any concerns or questions members have pertaining to our eventsEnsure that individuals register online and check-in at our monthly eventsMaintain records of individuals attending our monthly eventsUpdate our database with emails and phone numbers of individuals that attend our eventsEssential functions/working conditions:Must be able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing prioritiesMust be proficient in Microsoft OfficeAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingAbility to connect with others and develop relationshipsCommitted to the mission of serving young adults with disabilitiesAbility to perform several tasks concurrentlyStrong time management and organizational skillsAbility to maintain detailed records and confidential informationAbout the Disability Allies:The purpose of the Disability Allies is to plan team building activities that connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. At our events, we pair each individual up with a mentor. The job of the mentor is to help the participants with their social skills and ensure that everyone interacts with each other.
