The product design team bridges the intersection of user desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability. We craft solutions for Sourcegraph’s Cody AI assistant and code search functionality that make developers more productive and help anyone code. You are a talented and technically-minded Product Designer who is also comfortable reading and writing basic code such as javascript, typescript, or python. This gives you the skills to work with technical teams on complex problems related to the future of AI-powered dev tools, code search, and developer productivity. You are strongly aligned with our values, inspired by our mission to make it so that everyone can code, and motivated to do your best work at Sourcegraph.You have 5 to 8 years of experience designing complex B2B or B2C web applications as demonstrated in a strong portfolioHave experience designing intricate desktop applications similar to IDEs, design tools like Figma, and 3D applicationsYou have the ability to create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts to communicate complex concepts, and explain the reasoning behind your designsYou have experience with user research and usability testing and are leading research calls with customersYou have excellent written and verbal communication skillsYou have 3+ years of experience writing and shipping javascript, typescript, python, or similar code to solve user needsYou have the ability to adapt your tools and processes for the velocity of a fast-paced startup where projects have varying requirement levelsNice to haves:Experience designing for emerging technologiesExperience designing for developer toolsExperience managing a design systemA portfolio showcasing strong marketing design and illustrationExperience working with distributed or remote teamsExperience in designing search functionality for eCommerce, B2B, or other complex applicationsLevel

As an open and transparent company that values competitive compensation, our compensation ranges are visible to every single Sourcegraph teammate.To determine your salary, we use a number of market and data-driven salary sources, along with your location zone, and target the high-end of the range to ensure we’re always paying above market regardless of where you live in the world. Both U.S. and international locations are divided into one of four zones, determined by the cost of labor index for each area. The starting salary for a successful candidate will be based on level, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and location zone. Please note that these salary ranges may be adjusted in the future.The target compensation for this role is $64,000 - $128,000 USD base.Zone 2: $128,000 USDZone 3: $96,000 USDZone 4: $64,000 USDPlease speak with a recruiter for additional information regarding zone locations.In addition to our cash compensation, we offer equity (because when we succeed as a company, we want you to succeed, too) and generous perks & benefits.Interview process
