The primary functions of this position are to coordinate the personnel and operations of all areas of broadcasting and media needs for the college including but not limited to WKGC FM-HD, GC-TV, Center for Student Media, The AlterNation, Commodore Productions, electronic emergency bulletin board, emergency broadcast system and campus filming. Responsible for the design, development and implementation of audio visual/broadcasting needs concerning the college. Manages both WKGC/Media Production departments’ budget.

Notice of E-verify participation.What Gulf Coast State College offers you:An excellent work/life balance, with a standard work week of 37.5 hours/week!Retirement Plan and 403b or 457b savings plan that will allow you to plan for your future!An excellent medical plan that pays 95% of employee premiums!Additional benefits of dental, vision, short and long term disability insurances, and College-paid life insurance!Critical Illness, Cancer, and Whole Life insurance plans!Accrued annual leave, sick leaveTuition reimbursement opportunities!Opportunities to volunteer for committees to help in your professional growth!Salary range depends on experience. $68,857 – $76,922.The employee duties include, but are not limited to:Supervise staff and work-study students, as necessary, chairing scheduled meetings to review and schedule assignments and tasks.Ensure the timely submission of the station's public file.Perform key planning tasks associated with technological support in related media which support the mission of the college, planning for future hardware and software needs, researching and evaluating hardware/software, formulating and implementing operating policies and priorities and the like at the departmental level.Write and maintain current grant status with CPB, DOE and FPREN.Supervise the creation of new production content for the student radio station on a regular basis.Create marketing material to advertise student radio to the GCSC, FSUPC, and community.Provide academic support for Radio class and student radio tours as needed.Provide music for SGA, community, and college events as needed.Supervise updates to thealternationradio.com with new DJs, new schedules, and images each semester.Organize and plan the training of new radio DJs on the Rules and Policies of the student radio station.Manage scheduling of the GCTV studio for classes, student developed programming, GCSC activities and community use.Coordinate efforts with cross-department staff to develop and create programming ideas to highlight the various programs at the college.Work in collaboration with deans and college departments to produce various media materials for public information, recruitment and other purposes.Develop and modify programs, services and systems in accordance with institutional objectives and resources, user needs and changing technologies.Plan coverage of major events, promotions, as well as special projects.Work with marketing/campus outreach with video related assignments.Create and maintain plans for coverage of crisis, breaking news, and weather emergencies, working with marketing and the media group as appropriate.Work with the Bay County Emergency Operations Center to develop a strategic plan for the college media organizations to fulfill its role in disseminating information to the public in emergency situations.Develop a relationship with high school CTE programs and participate in multiple recruiting events per year.Work with local businesses to develop internship opportunities and maintain advisory board participation.Continuously update the job posting area on media websites with current jobs for graduates in the surrounding area.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Communications, Digital Media, or other related broadcast/mass media field.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:Physical Demands:Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, and feel.Regularly required to walk distances across campus.The ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds and climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl may be required.Full Time/Part Time:
