Graphic Designer
Reports To:
Manager of Creative Art & Design
Compensation: $24.04 - $26.44 per hour
Position Summary:
Great entry level opportunity for someone pursuing a career in design to gain design experience and build their portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Creative Design & Exhibits this role will produce high quality designs that are consistent with LLPA’s style guide on time and under demanding deadlines. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional, highly responsive, and able to work in multiple media formats.
Qualifications :
Senior level college students pursuing graphic design or a related degree or recent graduates actively pursuing a career in graphic designRelated work experience may be accepted in lieu of education or a degreeCritical Skills/Competencies:
Experience in the aquarium, zoo, or museum industry is a plusWorking knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator.Well versed in the principles and elements of designUnderstanding of typographic principlesSharp attention to detail and organization skillsAbility to follow art directionMust be flexible and adaptableMust work effectively under pressure and with a sense of urgencyAbility to track and complete multiple tasks and projects through various stages of development and implementation with comfort in exercising persistence as neededHighly resourceful team-player, with the ability to be extremely effective independentlySelf-starter with a can-do attitudeEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Director of Creative Design & Exhibits and the Creative teamAssist in a broad range of design tasks including, but not limited to, photo retouching, concept design, illustration, layout, and typographyDevelop creative design concepts that meet the objectives of the organization and promote the mission of LLPACreate designs for both digital and print-based graphicsReview designs for errorsScope of Position:
Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.Physical Demands of the Job:
The position will primarily be in an office environmentSpecial Working Conditions:
The overall work environment while performing this job includes exposure to weather conditions and the noise level is usually moderate
