If you have a passion for fostering a thriving community and want to support designers and founders in using design to improve the world, we would love to hear from you.This is a remote, part-time position with flexible working hours. However, we require availability during U.S. work hours. The estimated weekly commitment is 10-15 hours on average.Responsibilities
Screening and onboarding membersScreen member applications based on member criteriaGuide new members through the onboarding process, finding the right balance between automated and personal interactionsWelcome new members in the #intros channel and via direct messagesServe as a moderator for key channels, ensuring they remain active and well-maintained by initiating meaningful conversations, responding to posts, and tagging specific members to encourage participation and response to questionsAnswer general questions about Designer Fund Collective and assist members in navigating the Slack workspace and member hubHelp surface and share back knowledge shared in the community via Slack or emailMonitor for posts that violate community guidelinesSupporting community programming and operationsHelp plan community meetups and moderate gatherings on Zoom or GatheroundDraft community digests and event recaps to share back with membersAid in organizing and maintaining community CRM in Airtable/CircleReport on community engagement and growthAssist with hiring support for our portfolio and communityIdeal Qualities
Prior experience in community management, content development, and/or event managementDemonstrated ability to effectively manage vibrant and active online and/or in-person communitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience in launching and maintaining new programs and initiativesNice to have: Background as a designer or extensive collaboration with designers. We are seeking someone who understands the challenges that designers at startups face and can communicate effectively with themNice to have: Experience scaling early stage startups and working closely with foundersNice to have: Proficiency in automation, productivity, and community tools such as Airtable, Notion, Zapier, Slack, Circle, etc.
