UI/UX Designer

to join our fast-growing team, delivering complex enterprise solutions.We’re looking for colleagues that are intrinsically motivated to create polished user interfaces and interactions, positive experiences, and have a growth mindset. We want someone who’s looking to figure out that ‘Ok, but what’s next?’ portion of a problem, anticipating and proactively responding to the entirety of the UI/UX process.You’re motivated to understand user needs and behaviors and use that to drive product design and identify areas for improvement. You’ll be creating, reviewing, and iterating on wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect designs, and helping build out our design system!You can expect to work with customer stakeholders, product, engineering, and leadership teams on existing and future products that are changing the way US policy decisions are being made.The position requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance. It will be based in either Washington, D.C. or at our HQ in Palo Alto, California.ResponsibilitiesCreation of storyboards, wireframes, user journeys, mockups and prototypes to communicate and validate designsConduct research and communicate with stakeholders and clients to deeply understand their goals and challengesClearly and confidently present design concepts and key milestone deliverables to internal teams and key stakeholdersIdentify opportunities for design and process improvements and drive their implementationWork on multiple projects with varying levels of UX engagement, time to complete, and expectationsHelp develop guidance/documentation for dev handoff and design specifications and components to ensure a cohesive design languageBe engaged in helping develop team process and practiceQualifications3+ years of work experience in UI/UX DesignStrong and diverse portfolio showcasing UX and design skills. We’re looking for someone with an eye for design!Fluency in best practices for HCD and usability principles and techniquesExpertise in xD, and/or Sketch to create high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypesExperience creating prototypes or wireframes for complex web applications, workflows, and data visualizationsStrong time-management skills and ability to self-manage effectively in a remote environmentAn eye for detail and a high bar for qualityFamiliarity with HTML, CSS and responsive designU.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a security clearanceNice To HaveIllustration or drawing skills - can you make custom icons?Familiarity with graphing libraries like HighchartsFunctional experience with web front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, Leaflet, ReactExperience with StorybookAbout RhombusRhombus Power Inc.
