Job Summary

AUSA News is looking for a Freelance Studio Technician to join the News 12 team in Bethpage.  In this role you will produce television programming by operating production equipment and performing other duties associated with a production environment for all News 12 Services.
 

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up and maintain all equipment, sets and props used in a production environment.
  • Assist talent, production staff and guests as required.
  • Operate equipment proficiently and in accordance with television standards.
  • Work on the wide variety of production elements, including remote broadcasts, special coverage, interviews, etc.
  • Help resolve operating and production difficulties.
  • Maintain equipment initiating repairs when necessary.
  • Assist with training as required.
  • Represent News 12 services in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Participate in special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a television production environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of production equipment and computers
  • Basic knowledge of news operations and practices helpful.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $37,500.00 - $61,607.00  / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
