Description of Position

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:Position may close before the posted end date without notice. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Position open until filled.

Position Supervisor: Kellie PorterDepartment/Office: Student Affairs/Student Support Services/Alcohol & Drug Prevention

Pay Rate: $16.20 per hour, 0 - 12 hours per week depending on department need, availability of funds and student eligibility. This position will gain marketable work experience to support the mission, goals and values of the college Alcohol and Drug Prevention Office.

This position is grant funded through a partnership with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA). The grant focuses on education and awareness, across campuses, of an individual's overall health and wellness related to alcohol and other drugs. This position will work in collaboration with several Student Development departments. This position will assist our students by providing the following services:

The Marketing Assistant for Alcohol and Drug Prevention will support staff by assisting with:• Social media planning, campaign creation and execution specific to alcohol and drug prevention• Creating and posting social media content to include marketing copy, photographs and videos• Administrative tasks, including but not limited to tracking earned media, media reports, signage creation and signage posting.• Create promotional flyers, posters and brochures.• Distribute promotional material across YC campuses.• Contribute to the planning coordination and promotion of student health & prevention events and outreach.• Participate in and promote the Health & Wellness Club.• Complete Certified Peer Educator Training• Provide peer education to YC students requiring additional information about internal and external prevention and recovery resources to support their health and wellness goals.• Provide peer education to YC students requiring additional information about internal and external prevention & recovery resources to support their health and wellness goals.• Support prospective and existing students by answering questions and providing referrals to internal and external resources.• Develop an expanded knowledge of Yavapai College.• Develop an expanded knowledge of social service resources in Yavapai County.• Assist with additional projects, as needed

The start date, to occur no sooner than July 1st of the current aid year, of this position will be determined by the hiring supervisor after an applicant is hired. This position has a standard end of assignment date of June 30th of the current aid year. Assignment may end sooner or be extended depending FWS eligibility, availability and/or department need.
