As a Graphic Designer at Garden City, you will play a key role in conceptualizing and creating visual solutions across various platforms. Your work will contribute to developing and design a variety of digital and print materials, including but not limited to social media graphics, brochures, newsletters, posters, flyers, logos, and website assets.

The Communications Department is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Part-Time Graphic Designer to join our team. This role involves creating visually appealing and effective design solutions to enhance our communications efforts across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong design portfolio, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Part-Time ($20/hour)Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills

Develop and design a variety of digital and print materials, including but not limited to social media graphics, brochures, newsletters, posters, flyers, logos, and website assets.Collaborate with the Communications team and other departments to conceptualize and execute creative campaigns that align with the department's goals and messaging.Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.Assist in the creation of visual content for presentations, reports, and other internal communications.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.Regularly update and maintain the website to ensure content is current, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to design projects.Receive and incorporate feedback from team members to refine designs.Maintain organized files and archives of design projects. Keep detailed, accurate records of all work performed and assist in organization of files & calendars.Perform various other duties necessary for the functioning of the Communications Department.Minimum qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work.Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.Ability to translate complex ideas into visually appealing and easily understandable graphics.Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.Possess or be willing to acquire knowledge and skills in designing graphics that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, ensuring accessibility for all individuals, including those with disabilities.A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required.Supplemental information

This is a part-time position, with hours offered as work is required, approximately 5 hours per week. The schedule is flexible but will require occasional availability during standard business hours and for special events.
