About the team

Our talented and diverse UX team delights users one design at a time, while building and enhancing a UX culture within Roku that nurtures our ongoing enrichment and elevates the UX maturity across the company and the industry.

About the role

We're looking for a UX Designer to help craft the experience for Roku's web properties. In this role, you will help create or evolve experiences for a variety of different user & business needs. You will partner with our stellar user researchers and help mold the research plans to give us the most salient information for the next round of design decisions.

Outstanding user experiences come from people who have the vision to see the big picture while maintaining an incredible attention to detail. In this role, you will partner with product managers, work closely with engineering teams and internalize business goals - melding them together to design and deliver great products.

What you'll be doingDesign innovative, intuitive solutions for new features and enhancements across a variety of Roku websitesGather requirements and create user-centered experience flows, including the cross-pollination of ideas with different teams within RokuWork closely with product managers and business stakeholders to identify the problems, business goals, and user outcomes that your designs will addressUtilize user journeys to help guide and frame your design approachesCollaborate closely with the development team throughout the lifecycle of the product/featurePartner with user researchers to determine and execute the ideal research methodology to evaluate your designsPlan and execute presentations to UX management, stakeholders & executive leadershipOwn your designs and communicate effectively, articulating your design decisions to colleagues from diverse disciplinesGive and receive feedback in regular design critiques with your peersWe're excited if you have

3+ years' experience in UX and the ability to work independently with a product teamExperience designing for desktop & mobile web consumer experiences. Even better if you've worked on customer support products/featuresKnowledge & comfort in designing for/within the latest web standardsHave shipped multiple products/features, and can discuss your specific contributions in a compelling wayPortfolio highlighting projects demonstrating user-centered design solutions with measurable outcomes (include online portfolio link with resume)Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, and to embrace opportunities to rapidly iterate on designsA passion for innovation and problem solvingHands-on experience working with User Researchers (or conducting User Research yourself) and utilizing the results of that research to shape your designsEndless empathy for the userProficiency in UX Design tools such as Figma (or similar) to create user interfacesDegree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
