THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Vice President of Communications. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of professional experience, with a strong background in in-house communications for large brands or sports organizations. They should possess expertise in communications digital platforms, youth and influencer communications strategies within the marketing space, and a proven track record of driving and building key communications strategies aligned with business objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE UP TO:Lead and deploy strategic development of a public relations strategy that positions Portland Thorns FC as a global brand, garnering coverage from around the world.Drive a comprehensive brand PR approach to deploy communications tactics across all front-facing consumer touchpoints.Develop integrated PR campaigns to support brand purpose and strengthen connections with consumers.Create multi-channel PR strategies for seasonal and yearly campaigns across press, social media, experiential marketing, and emerging channels.Collaborate cross-functionally to lead and implement a PR strategy and go-to-market calendar for sports campaigns, ensuring robust integration across PR, Social, Seeding, Experiential, and Influencer Marketing.Empower team and staff to authentically represent the brand and team in their communications.Ensure the club, its players, staff and ownership are positioned successfully to inspire and engage target consumer audiences.WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A THORN:

10+ years of relevant professional experience in communications, with a focus on in-house communications for large brands or sports organizations.Must have

in-house communications experience for a sports organization.Strong understanding of digital platforms and youth and influencer communications strategies.Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications strategies aligned with business objectives.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams effectively.BENEFITS:
