The Area AV Manager will report directly to the Regional Vice President of Operations as well as the Senior Director of AV. This is an onsite position with the occasional opportunity to work remotely.What You’ll Do:The Area AV Manager will provide oversight of all services used to deliver technology to our customers and associates including networking, desktop support, audio, video, HSIA, audio & video conferencing, webcasting, and lighting for different types of meetings and events. The Area AV Manager works closely with the teams to deliver an excellent meeting, conference, and working experience.The Area AV Manager oversees Technology Managers and AV Supervisors in supporting/executing customer needs and helps manage, train, and lead the teams in personal, technical, and career development/training. The person in this role also works directly with the sales and event teams to deliver excellent client experiences.The Area AV Manager is responsible for:Day-to-day management of the AV Technology Management teams in the RegionManagement/troubleshooting of AV equipment, including but not limited to audio, video, lighting, computer networking systems, and hardware both in-house and client systemsPreprogram coordination for large events in tandem with the property teamsMain point of escalation for onsite teams.Ensure that booking guidelines are followed and that all leaders are maximizing space and revenue through audits and the weekly program execution order meetingsProvide genuine anticipatory customer service by establishing good working relationships with Convene team members, divisions, and vendorsAttend PEO, Pre-Con, and pre-production meetings as neededManage week-to-week property operations and oversee scheduling and coordination of on-property team members.Work with the AV Technology Managers to maximize talent and utilize scheduling best practices.Delegate tasks to the onsite Operations team as neededCross-train in other functions as needed.Assist with developing a healthy employee relations climate, including employee motivation and coaching across multiple properties.Participate in collaborative project efforts with both the technology team and other departments.Interview and hire prospective candidates for all positions in the department using targeted selection. Primary point of contact for onboarding and training of new hires in the region ensuring all required certifications are completed.Stay current on industry trends in special events/meetings through benchmarking, trade publications, competitive shopping, and special event conferences.Review all departmental SOPs quarterly and update them as needed.Reporting:Completion of weekly/monthly status reports.Validation of financial reportsCollaborate on capital projects and purchasesSupport of budgetary initiatives and workflows for properties within regionMaintain and uphold Convene’s cultural standards.Perform other duties as requested by management.Show initiative and drive to solve problems.Portray a polished, professional image according to Convene dress code standards.What We Look For:Bachelor’s Degree preferred6+ years’ of progressive IT and AV experience4+ years’ experience in managing IT and AV equipment with live eventsKnowledge of computer networking/maintenance and software systems4+ years’ experience leading team membersHospitality and customer service experience requiredCompensation:The above job definition information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
