JOB SUMMARYComments

The VP, Creative Director, Copy (VP, CD, Copy) serves as the lead creative across brands and manages brand Copy team(s) to ensure high quality of copy content and style to meet the clients' marketing strategies and objectives. With the Art team and cross-functional partners, they own responsibility for developing award winning ideas, brand strategy, team development and cohesion, client management, and creative ideation and execution. They are responsible for the career development and management of direct and indirect reports for all workstreams and brands in their portfolio. As an officer and senior leader of thecompany, the VP is an ambassador of the agency internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSComments

Creative Ideation and ExecutionWorks collaboratively with Creative and Account partners to develop smart, single-minded ideas on strategy. Works with direct members of staff to ensure proper production of campaign elements.Helps to set vision and strategy for organic creative growth of the creative department and agency.

Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborates and communicates with team members in a productive manner to ensure goals are being met and to attain and maintain creative vision outlined for the agency.

Client ManagementDevelops and maintains strong client relationships through demonstrated creative leadership, ability, and successful output.

Strategic ThinkingMaintains high-level understanding of client's products, marketing objectives, and the promotional activities of similar or competitive products to contribute innovative ideas and tactics.

Team Management and DevelopmentDirectly supervises brand Copy teams providing mentorship/guidance as needed. Demonstrates ability to hire and retain highly capable people while fostering inclusive and positive culture.

Business and Resource ManagementMaintains timely and detail-oriented approaches to administrative duties, ensuring creative team is billable, and fully utilized to increase productivity and efficiency.

New BusinessGrows existing brands and participate in new business to generate additional revenue.

Agency and CultureParticipates in internal and external initiatives to elevate agency operations, community, and brand.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESComments

*For Specialty functions, see additional information (if applicable) in the box below.Creative Ideation and Execution- Creates and oversees the development of all creative, delivering a high level of excellence.- Partners with Account, Senior Creative Leadership, and Clients in development/presentation of brand personality, positioning, and creative briefs.- Possesses the ability to take abstract concepts and empower project teams to create cutting-edge concepts or designs that are user-friendly and representative of the client's goals, and withinbrand guidelines.- Helps set priorities and manages workloads within Art/Copy team so assignments are completed within agreed upon time frames.- Corroborates with production, ensuring quality work that is completed as designed, on time, without error, and on budget.- Manages and carries out photo shoots, videos, and film productions, with assistance from reports.

Cross-Functional Collaboration- Effectively partners and communicates with internal stakeholders across Creative, Account, Project Management departments (among others) to ensure successful execution of campaigns.- Ensures Account team members thoroughly understand creative concepts, and inspire elevation of creative product when necessary, so that they are committed to selling to the client.- Maintains a positive/solutions-oriented approach to cross-team problem-solving.

Client Management- Leads and maintains strong relationship with client partners through demonstrated creative ability and active communication.- Partners with clients to understand brand, messaging, and creative vision.- Professionally and tactfully manages client expectations, timelines, budgets, and requests.

Strategic Thinking- Possesses an in-depth understanding of the assigned account, treatment category, and understanding of competitive landscape.- Works with Account and Creative senior management to develop overall marketing strategies.- Communicates ideas thoughtfully and succinctly.

Talent Management and Development- Directly supervises Copy team on brand(s) and provides mentorship/guidance to copy team as needed.- Meets regularly with direct/indirect reports to proactively manage career development through goal setting and reviews.- Demonstrates leadership, empathy, and professionalism in communications with team.

Business and Resource Management- Ensures Copy team members are billable and fully utilized to increase productivity and efficiency.- Partners with Creative Resourcing to determine scopes, billability, and acquires freelance supportas needed.- Demonstrates full understanding of Vantage/billing process and timely reporting of hours.

New Business- Leads and/or participates in creative pitch efforts to successfully grow new business.- Evaluates and identifies opportunities to grow business with current brand(s)/client(s).

Agency and Culture Building- Acts as ambassador for the agency at industry events.- Participates and/or leads agency initiatives outside of day-to-day to elevate employee experience and department.- Responsible for establishing and maintaining the reputation of the company as a creative leader in healthcare advertising.
