Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Environment Designer to serve our Residential and Commercial departments in either our Greenville, SC or Mills River, NC office. Design production is an integral part of our sales process to create proposals for A/V, automation, unified communications, conferencing, access control, surveillance and environmental systems. The Environment Designer works in tandem with the Sales team to consult with clients during the lighting and window covering selection process. The role also serves as a technical resource to educate the Technician team on installation best practices and to establish quality control standards for all facets of environmental systems, focusing on lighting and window coverings. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about lighting and shading custom integration and learning new technology.

Responsibilities

Coordinates closely with internal sales and industry partners to design environmental systems that meet customer needs, including lighting automation, window coverings, lighting fixtures, outdoor heaters, and other environment related systems.

Prepares environment design proposals in iPoint Designer for all Fusion divisions.

Consults with clients to guide lighting fixture and window covering selections.

Consults with clients to enhance outdoor spaces with heaters, retractable roof systems and other emerging outdoor enhancements.

Prepares accurate system drawings, schematics and project documentation related to environmental systems designs.

Works with Procurement Manager to ensure that all necessary parts, equipment, and supplies for environment systems installations are ordered accurately and on time.

Provides technicians with environment systems installation instructions when requested by Project Management.

Conducts discovery site visits with internal and external partners at all phases of a project including quality control checks.

Maintains working knowledge of current environment systems custom integration technology to design reliable systems.

Researches product capabilities and specifications; communicates findings to affected parties and external stakeholders.

Provides detailed project communication between all departments, including but not limited to proper documentation of any in-process and close-out changes, additions, or deletions to the lighting, shading, and other “environments” projects.

Meets department and project deadlines.

Adheres to Fusion operational processes and procedures and quality control standards.

Qualifications

Lighting design experience

Working knowledge of lighting control and electrical systems

Motorized window covering systems design and installation experience

Outdoor heaters design and installation experience

Demonstrated ability to accurately read blueprints and complete take-offs

CAD/Visio/Bluebeam experience

Ability to travel overnight for project support and training

Possesses strong written and oral English communication skills

Detail oriented and organized; multi-tasker

Ability to work independently

Ability to work under pressure

Maintains strict confidentiality with client and company information

Clean driving record and background check

Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel

Proficiency using hand and power tools

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to take accurate field measurements

Ability to work on ladders, lifts and at high elevations

Be currently authorized to work in the United States
