Senior Technical Animator

Jam City is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Animator to join our Cookie Jam team in Carlsbad! As a Senior Technical Animator, you will play a pivotal role in crafting engaging and visually appealing animations for our match-3 mobile games. You will be responsible for creating rigs, animations, and visual effects that elevate the gameplay experience in our mobile titles. Your work will directly influence player engagement by delivering dynamic and satisfying animations that bring the game to life. You'll collaborate closely with artists, game developers, and other team members to seamlessly integrate your animations into the game.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create high-quality 2.5D and 3D rigs and animations for characters, UI elements, and other game assets.Implement these assets in Unity to ensure they meet the technical and creative requirements of the project.Develop easy-to-follow animation sequences that communicate and enhance game mechanics and player actions.Set up and refine Unity scenes to optimize animation workflows, ensuring smooth integration with other game elements.Collaborate with artists and engineers to find innovative solutions for implementing visual effects and animations that align with game design.Utilize Maya and Photoshop to create, edit, and polish animations and assets to the highest quality.Continuously iterate and refine animations based on feedback to achieve the desired impact and engagement.QUALIFICATIONS

Strong expertise in Maya, Unity, and Photoshop, with a proven track record in creating high-quality animations for mobile games.Experience in setting up and adjusting scenes in Unity Engine for seamless animation integration.Proficiency in Spine animation or other 2.5D animation tools is a plus.Demonstrated ability to own animation tasks and projects from conception to final polished results.Experience working on mobile games, particularly in the match-3 genre, is highly preferred.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and work effectively in a team environment.Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in animation.A portfolio that accurately represents your work, highlighting your ability to create compelling animations and rigs for mobile games.NICE TO HAVE

Knowledge of Spine Esoteric or similar 2D animation tools.

The range listed is just one component of Jam City's total compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, or market demands. This range is based on a full-time position. This range may be modified in the future. In addition, Jam City provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, life, disability, and accident insurance. Pay Range: $118,000 - $140,000 salary per year.
