This position is based in Tucson, AZ.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing team as our Director of Marketing & Communications. We seek a marketing leader who is a great communicator, can build trust and collaboration, and has a versatile skill set. If you are a strategic and analytical thinker with strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills who can direct, implement, monitor, and evaluate Universal Avionics marketing and communications strategy and programs, then we would love to talk to you. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. It is an onsite position with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule, per the company policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Directs and implements the organization's advertising and promotional activities and prepares effective marketing campaigns based on identified needs and/or market research.Product promotion (following U.S. DOT regulatory requirements).Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging, and branding throughout all communication touch points (internal and external).Translates the overall marketing vision aligned with the company goals into an integrated business plan, tactics, projects, and deliverables.Builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and will develop and implement a focused communication program.Oversees critical marketing functions, including market research to identify and recommend effective marketing approaches, communications, and product planning.Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials.Explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications.Oversees planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging.Utilizes technology and data to improve and accelerate marketing activities with the focus on Artificial Intelligent technologies.Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.Spearhead the development and implementation of the company’s Marketing Plan as the external expression of the organization’s strategic plan and annual operating goals, using input from key stakeholders across the organization.Using the Marketing Plan as a guide, recommend an annual Marketing budget for advertising, shows and events, etc., and, upon approval, manage internal and external resources and activities accordingly.Ability to travel frequently.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains supervisory/ management team members and support staff in the department.Oversees the daily workflow of the department.Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.Handles discipline and termination of employees and in accordance with company policy.Minimum Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aerospace, Marketing, Communications, or related field required; Master’s degree preferredMinimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing and long-range planning required.Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience.Relevant experience in the aviation industry is preferred but not mandatory.Competencies:
