The Marketing Operations team is responsible for increasing efficiencies and driving results within the Meijer Marketing department by establishing, managing and optimizing effective processes that empower teams to maximize performance.

The Visual Merchandising team is responsible for creating a customer-focused, efficient shopping environment through the management of the overall look of Meijer stores through semi-permanent signage (i.e., wayfinding, business area signage, seasonal graphics). This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining communication with all stakeholders, managing workflows, timelines, and budgets in the development of all visual merchandising signage, as well as closely collaborating with key internal and external partners.

The Manager, Visual Merchandising is considered a subject matter expert and is responsible for overseeing strategic planning, design, production and installation of visual signage for all Meijer stores and formats. This role ensures that the visual signage aligns with the company's brand identity, marketing strategy, and seasonal themes, requiring close collaboration with company leaders, vendors and contractors.

The Manager, Visual Merchandising also provides day-to-day leadership and direction to the Visual Merchandising team, which includes numerous Specialists, who strategically identify, plan and execute in-store signage opportunities in close partnership with Manager, Visual Merchandising, numerous teams and key stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing:

Develops and implements visual sign merchandising plans and guidelines for the company's stores, in collaboration with the Merchandising, Operations, Properties and Marketing teams.

Works cross-functionally with their peers and Director, Marketing Operations to improve visual merchandising work processes and gain team efficiency.

Leads in the development of key business relationships and integrates across departments to ensure successful implementation and support of visual merchandising projects.

Engages with the Marketing Creative team to ensure timely production and installation of visual signage, supporting product displays, merchandising and promotions to amplify customer purchase and ultimately drive sales.

Ensures that all visual signage is consistent, creative, and effective in communicating the company's brand identity, marketing messages, and seasonal themes, all in an effort to drive the business.

Coordinates with store leaders, vendors and contractors to ensure the timely and quality delivery and installation of in-store visual signage.

Sets up and tracks all visual merchandising project plan schedules and budgets. Adjusts project plans and resolves issues as necessary.

Creates, executes, and manages significant visual merchandising annual budget of millions of dollars, including any capital work proposals.

Leads Merchandise Presentation process for New Stores, Remodels and existing stores, requiring close collaboration with numerous teams across the company.

Monitors and evaluates the visual sign merchandising performance and impact; provides feedback and recommendations for improvement.

Leads, trains, develops Visual Merchandising Specialists; assigns projects, tasks and schedules.

Develops talent in support of the Meijer competency model, values and culture.

Organizes and designs team structures and operational models for seamless, successful execution.

Identifies and develops business reports/scorecards for visual merchandising projects and team member performance. Reviews and interprets results of reports and data; analyzes data integrity and effectiveness.

Evaluates and implements software tools for visual merchandising projects and coordinates enhancements.

Utilizes knowledge of industry best practices for visual merchandising and recommends/implements necessary changes.

Leads the strategic development, implementation and ongoing management of the Visual Merchandising-specific training for new team members and cross-functional partners.

Develops and provides presentations for Marketing, Business Leaders, Executive Leadership.

What You'll Be Doing:

Bachelor’s degree Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Project Management or related discipline.

5+ years of experience in visual sign merchandising, preferably in a retail environment.

Strong knowledge of visual sign merchandising principles, techniques and tools.

Creative, innovative, and detail-oriented, with a keen eye for aesthetics and visual communication.

Experience managing simultaneous, cross-functional projects, programs and/or portfolios.

Extensive budget management experience required.

Previous management experience preferred.

Exceptional project management skills for managing project scope, time, cost, quality, team member resources, communication, risk and procurement.

Ability to lead through ambiguity and inspire teams to follow in the face of change and innovation.

Knowledge of Corporate financial and fiscal year budgeting processes.

Strong leadership, team building, coaching, mentoring and consulting skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Ability to communicate technical issues and principles to non-technical people.

Ability to define methods to measure processes and standards.

Adaptive, flexible and responsive to challenges, change and customer business cultures.

Possesses an independent and innovative orientation.

Willing to travel to various store locations, as needed.
