Scope

The Graphic Technician II will consult regularly with customers throughout the print and production process to resolve design and production problems, and to serve as the primary customer contact with regard to any technical issues. In this role you be responsible for optimizing incoming advertising/design/agency work to achieve the necessary trap, color separation, die placement, and aesthetic qualities, based on a thorough understanding of print production manufacturing capabilities.

Skills and Experience

Knowledge of graphics software, including but not limited to Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Esko Software.

Thorough understanding of our workflow and our manufacturing capabilities in order to analyze and solve complex graphic art design/production problems for all printing processes (Flexo, Litho, etc.).

Knowledge of fundamental color management and color theory principles relative to our print specifications (ink-paper-press-proofing interaction).

Customer service skills to effectively communicate issues with customers and problem-solving skills to find adequate resolutions.

Must have a fundamental knowledge of proofing and familiarity with large format printers to be able to trouble shoot common problems that arise on a periodic basis.

Ability to communicate detailed information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to create plate layouts, tiffs/len files for production and to quality check work to prevent error and optimize print production.

Ability to train and supervise interns and assign work priorities.

Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision, as well as contribute as part of a high-performance work team.

Ability to use SAP and other MIS platforms for resource planning, managing data, and executing processes.

Establish, maintain and encourage cordial working relationships with those contacted in the course of business. Build customer dependency to promote long-term business goals.

Layout/design and creative skills sufficient to find balance between customer’s needs and manufacturing limitations.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Graphic Communications, Graphic Design, or related field, preferred

Associates degree and 2+ years relevant work experience; or a combination of education and work experience in a print production manufacturing setting

Pay Range: $45,410.00 - $56,810.00
