Freelance Technical Designer - Wovens

Our client, a fashion brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join the team temporarily in their New York office! This is a full-time hour freelance role working mainly on wovens.ResponsibilitiesPrepare samples (including measuring, steaming, pre-fitting as time allows) for fittings.Develop tech packs including technical specs and flat drawings.Lead fittings for assigned styles; recapping to cross functional teams to confirm all is clear.Accurately identify and communicate sample corrections including aesthetics, dimensions, hand feel, functionality, and workmanship and constructionOwn pattern corrections and sample commenting for assigned styles.Clearly and promptly communicate with factories and cross-functional partners to ensure product accuracy and maintain delivery deadlinesCollaborate with cross functional teams to provide technical insight into to meeting design intent and margin targets for new silhouettesRequirements5+ years' experience in technical designSkilled with PLM.Effective verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsExpertise in patterning and pattern correctionsOpen willingness to partner with cross functional teamsStrong understanding of garment structures.Proficiency in Excel, outlook, and other Microsoft programsBackdrop utilizing Adobe IllustratorPlease submit your resume for consideration.You can use to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose.
