There's room to work on a number of different things and to tailor aspects of the internship to your particular goals and interests.As part of this role, you'll make creative efforts in your community (whether in-person on campus, or online), and will drive downloads of our app, using whatever marketing tactics and ideas you can think of. In our early beta testing, we've seen that high school and college students love Shades the most -- it's a new way to follow the news, without having to depend entirely on social media.Role descriptionAs the face of Shades on your campus or in your community, you will be in charge of maximizing awareness for the product, and getting as many people to download it as possible -- by working with a small team of fellow students, working hand-in-hand with the Shades co-founding team to brainstorm ideas and put them into action, and using your hustle and creativity to go the extra mile. While the role is remote - you can do your work anywhere and anytime - you will be needed on Stanford's campus to assist in on campus events and initiatives.Responsibilities will change based on the specifics of your campus, but will likely include:Managing campus influencer campaignsHelping create and establish team strategy, goals, and work roadmapWork as a liaison to campus clubs and organizations that want to partner with ShadesShadow the Digital Marketing team and contribute to their digital and social effortsHost on campus engagements, events, and giveawaysManaging the Shades community - not just in terms of growing and engaging our community, but also thinking creatively about GenZ, media consumption, and the future of online informationCollaborating with other interns across the countryThis is a remote, self-paced, part-time internship role. You can complete is at your own pace during the school year, with a minimum commitment of 8 hours/week. Shades will provide necessary equipment for you as needed, based on the ideas and plans that you want to enact.Duration and follow-on opportunitiesThis internship will last for 12 weeks. Although it's an unpaid position now, if you do a great job, you'll have a chance later to work with Shades in a full-time capacity.QualificationsYou're currently an undergraduate student at a college/university in the United StatesYou're confident and charismatic, and are very well connected at your school with a wide circle of friendsYou have a strong ability to work independently and remotelyYou're very outgoing and are confident in approaching people out of the blue to ask them questions for the videos you'll be makingYou're creative and aren't afraid to put bold ideas into actionYou are very organized and can manage projects with lots of moving piecesWhat is *not* requiredWe don't require any previous professional experience, and we don't require you to have a certain GPA or test scores or a resume loaded with amazing extracurriculars. We don't care what your major is. We want to find people who have a lot of hustle, heart, creativity, organization, work ethic, and charisma -- people who can help spread the word about Shades.
