We are seeking a
Designer II
to join our team in the
Newark, Ohio office .
Responsibilities:Assist Project Managers with technical design through CADProduce simple to complex, accurate drawings, and illustrations in accordance with company standards from data, sketches, or verbal communication from technical staff with the general directionDevelop preliminary site layouts, grading plans, utility plans and profiles, entrance plans, cross-sections, profiles, and other detailsUtilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software programs to perform routine calculations such as determining distances, areas, and volumes, and more complex calculations such as determining soil balance, landfill volumes, and stormwater drainage volumesServe as a technical resource for the company to mentor others; help develop and implement training programs and monitor industry developments; andAssist with drawing reproduction, and plan set assembly, distribution, and filingQualifications:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study5-12 years of experience performing design-related work in a civil engineering environmentExperience with Civil 3D requiredKnowledge of civil plans and relationships among sheet types within a plan setAble to work from rough sketches or verbal discussions to assist engineers in the development of simple drawings with minimal guidance and complex drawings with some guidanceCandidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated, and be willing to put the full effort towards the task at handCandidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance as a technical designerBenefits:
