Brand Strategy & Design Role - Bloomberg Media Product Marketing (6 month Contract)

Product Marketing at Bloomberg Media:

The Product Marketing team is part of the larger Bloomberg Media Integrated Marketing team - working alongside Sales to drive advertising revenue and relationships for the organization.

The goal of Bloomberg Media’s Product Marketing team is to effectively and responsibly translate and manage editorial and product opportunities to customer needs, through a commercial lens. We will define the brand strategy and positioning of our ever-growing suite of advertising products and solutions in the marketplace to drive advertising revenue, and drive feedback so that the voice of the market and consumers influences the product, and vice versa. As a team focused on how we put our products, platforms and capabilities to work for our clients, the way we position ourselves in this crowded marketplace is increasingly important. That’s where you come in.

What you’ll do:

We are looking to hire a creative marketing strategist with storytelling and design at their core. This role will have a distinct focus on strategic positioning, messaging, design and asset management; synthesizing complex info into visual interpretations that simplify our products, offerings, and holistic positioning into something clear, compelling and consistent – standing out in this competitive landscape.

This member of the team will be responsible for/a key part of the development, execution, roll-out and management of marketing assets leveraged by the Bloomberg Media teams we support - i.e.; Sales, Client Marketing, Client Services and Trade Marketing as the key stakeholders.

The Brand Strategy & Design role reports directly to the head of PM and the person taking on the role will work across a wide range of projects (see below):

Brand Strategy: Participation in updated foundational Brand Strategy & core asset development work (in conjunction with a TBD creative/branding agency) meant to position Bloomberg Media’s commercial products and offerings into simple information that resonates, engages and drives revenue.

Positioning, Design & Asset Creation: Lead on the development, execution and upkeep of marketing assets including, but not limited to:

Foundational Go-to-Market presentations to be shared with clients/agencies as all-encompassing briefings on products/offerings/case studies/research during key moments in the selling cycle such as Q4 leading into a new year of planning, in March leading into key video upfront windows, and quarterly as it relates to new product/editorial launches and findings.

Case studies

Ancillary Sales materials such as one sheets and sizzles

Assets and narratives such as invitations, social cards and other materials leveraged for trade marketing and events.

Not limited to what’s listed here – open to any creative vehicles that help meet our goals of standing out and engaging.

Asset Management: Effectively maintain collateral with timely updates as well as the continued development and management of a centralized repository of where said assets are housed.

Asset Roll-out/Training: A resource to internal teams on how to best use/access collateral created.

Cross-functional mindset: Across all of these projects, you’ll collaborate seamlessly with numerous internal stakeholders, working diplomatically and effectively with the Sales, Client Marketing, Client Solutions, and Trade Marketing teams as well as Data Science and Insights, Consumer Marketing, Editorial, Ad Product and Innovation, Yield, and the members of the current Product Marketing team. There might also be the potential to work with outside vendors such as creative/branding agencies, consultants & freelancers.

Qualifications you’ll need:

A minimum of 8 years work experience in product marketing, ad sales marketing or consumer brand at a publisher, client, or agency - preferably within a cross-platform environment

Proven experience with strategic design (vs tactical design only) and how this impacts storytelling

Skilled in graphic design, Photoshop/Adobe Suite, Google Suite, PowerPoint

Interest in the Media industry, Creative Marketing and innovative Advertising solutions.

Excellent written/oral/interpersonal communication skills/organizational skills and attention to detail.

A proven team-player with the ability to collaborate effectively and manage internal stakeholders across a variety of concentrations & regions. Comfortable with cross-functional work in a matrixed organization.

Excellent project management skills and attention to detail

Ability to effectively multi-task, be solutions-oriented and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Professional maturity, poise and integrity in all day-to-day interactions with other department employees.

Demonstrate diplomacy and discretion in the handling of confidential documents/information.

Ready to be a respected and valued member of an enthusiastic team forging new ground.

This is a 6 month contract.

Salary: 85,95,USD,Hourly
