The Opportunity

Aldersgate, a non-profit Continuing Care Senior Living Community, is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications to play a critical role in sharing the Aldersgate mission to celebrate and respect the value of each individual within an inclusive and vibrant Aldersgate community.

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Marketing & Communications (DMC) is part of the leadership team and is responsible for telling the story of Aldersgate by directing all activities of the marketing processes. This includes planning and implementing strategies and tactics to generate new leads; reenforcing the brand; leading the implementation of the marketing plan; developing positioning recommendations, guiding market research analysis; defining brand elements and tone.

The DMC is entrusted with the following key responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications Strategy and Planning

Develop and execute marketing and advertising plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure maximum census in all accommodations across campus.

Plan and oversee the organization’s advertising and promotion activities including print, electronic, and direct mailings.

Maintain website design, updates, events, and lead generation activities and track and report effectiveness.

Share the Aldersgate story with press, prospective residents and the community.

Assist in developing pricing strategies for the organization.

Evaluate market conditions and constantly adjust all forms of media to address census for all levels of living across all lines of business.

Assist the CEO and other leadership team members as required in coordinating internal and external messaging, communications, and reporting to staff, residents, stakeholders, and media.

Represent Aldersgate as needed at relevant functions.

Brand Management and Coordination

Work in coordination with the CEO, CFO, and the Aldersgate Leadership Team on the development and enhancement of the brand strategy for Aldersgate.

Work in conjunction with the Aldersgate Leadership Team and Sales Team to ensure a consistent and effective brand message for Aldersgate.

Collaborate with department leaders to maintain brand continuity across all business lines.

Enforce brand coherence across internal and external communications.

Operational Management and Compliance

Track all lead sources and evaluate the effectiveness of efforts to produce qualified leads.

Create and maintain the Marketing and Brand Strategy departmental budget.

Optimize organizational systems to ensure effective reporting of marketing and sales tactics and activities in partnership with Director of Sales.

Ensure the marketing policy and procedure manual are updated as needed.

Maintain current knowledge of local market trends and competitors to develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies.

Team Leadership and Engagement

Lead the Resident Marketing & Sales Committee.

Design, promote, and implement events and opportunities to allow a safe environment for residents, team members, guests and prospective residents to present their authentic selves comfortably and confidently.

Work in collaboration with the Director of Sales, Director of Community Engagement, Life Enrichment Manager, Director of Culinary Services and other team members to ensure all events and activities enhance Aldersgate’s residential living experience.

Select and manage marketing vendor partners in accordance with organizational policies ensuring effective collaboration and coordination with organizational objectives.

Interview, hire, train, coach, and discharge employees in accordance with established company policies and guidelines.

Qualifications

Commitment to Mission and Values: Demonstrated dedication to Aldersgate’s mission and values. Demonstrating a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors through compassionate care.

Experience in Marketing and Communications: Proven success in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies, preferably in a similar setting with long sales cycles. Ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences and drive engagement, trust and interest in current and prospective residents.

Collaborative Ideation and Implementation: Ability to collaborate effectively and follow through to bring ideas to fruition.

Written and Oral Communication: Inspiring public speaker with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Technical Proficiency: Ability to leverage technology to enhance marketing and communication efforts. Experience working in Adobe Creative Suites and MS Office products, Canva, WordPress, ALINE and ActiveDemand is preferred.

Flexibility in Working Hours: Willingness to work non-conventional hours, including some evenings and weekends.

The compensation for this position is $90,000 - $105,000.
