Job description: Salem Media of Washington, DC is seeking a full-time or part-time Promotions Director. Salem Media of DC operates three local radio stations: WAVA AM, WAVA FM and WWRC AM, and one national radio station: SiriusXM 131 Family Talk. We also operate the corresponding radio station websites and work with many additional digital platforms/tools with Salem Surround Digital. The Promotions Director reports to the General Manager and works closely with the General Sales Manager and Sales Team.
Responsibilities
Create digital graphics such as web banners and social media postsPlan and execute “major” radio promotions like WAVA’s Pastor’s Equip ConferenceWrite regular promotional linersWrite copy for the station websiteCreate content/images for our websitesWrite copy for email blastsUnderstand FCC rules and regulations when executing on-air and web-based contests/promotionsMaintain accurate and detailed calendars of upcoming events/projectsAttend sales callsNights and weekends occasionally required
Qualifications
Successful candidates will be extremely organized, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and know how to multi-task and prioritize. Experience in event marketing is ideal. People skills are key as the position requires constant interaction with our Sales and Management Teams. The Director will interact with clients and listeners and must be able to meet the very different needs of each “customer.”
Skills Required
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, OutlookExperience using Adobe Photoshop, Publisher, and PowerPoint, or similar software
