The Gerontological Society of America seeks an executive leader in support of the GSA vision, mission, and strategic objectives. This role oversees all functions related to strategic alliances, communications, and GSA positioning in the broader ecosystem. Charged with developing new relationships and expanding existing relationships with various communities of interest that intersect with the aging field, the leader will provide a consistent funding stream from corporate partners. Responsibilities include the development, implementation, and integration of a broad range of communications, social media, and public relations activities that align with the strategic direction and positioning of the organization.This role identifies alliances, creates funding proposals, and develops programs and activities that are impactful to the Society, its members, and the intended audience. The leader cultivates and advances programs that support practice changes to improve the care of aging individuals across the life course and collaborates with all team members to effectively represent GSA's capabilities to potential partners and alliances.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirect the development of new funding proposals that align with GSA strengths and strategic initiatives, conducting environmental scans, market analyses, and other necessary research to identify emerging strategic opportunities for GSA.Perform analyses of potential new ventures to determine feasibility and viability based on available resources. Prepare, conduct, and maintain corporate presentations and produce sales literature for strategic partners.Secure financially viable grants from strategic business partners and manage secured grants to ensure objectives are met and financial targets are obtained.Oversee the development of short- and long-range goals for each initiative linked to the long-term success of GSA, creating shared alignment around the vision for new initiatives.Direct the GSA Corporate Leaders Forum (CLF) by securing new CLF memberships and ensuring current members maintain their membership, conducting regular CLF meetings on topical issues.Direct the development and implementation of strategic communication, social media, and public relations plans to promote GSA products, programs, and mission.Ensure timely publication of communications (e.g., Gerontology News, GSA Announcements) and direct ongoing metrics review to ensure greatest impact and return on investment.Collaborate with other GSA operating units to support successful achievement of their goals and programs, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.Direct the funding strategy and manage the activities of three subordinate direct reports, ensuring overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas.Experience:

10-15+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strongly preferred: 15+ years of management group experience and association experience.Skills & Knowledge:

Broad functional experience in strategic planning, communications, business and market development, market research, and promotions/advertising. Proven ability to position, launch, and market diverse products. Strong project management, budget management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Results-oriented with excellent writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
