Overview

Job Summary

T he Marketing & Product Specialist is a creative and technical position working directly with the Director, Marketing and Events to advance NJ EDA’s marketing and product development initiatives , including creative and messaging for various marketing and social media channels, and coordination of the development and implementation of new and modified products and programs .

Salary range- $50,160- $62,700

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Designs, develops, prepares and updates digital marketing collateral and brochures, advertisements, baseline and custom PowerPoint presentations, e-newsletters, logos, social media graphics , media lists, and email marketing campaigns.

Works with staff to ensure all product and program information and messaging is current and aligned, including website content.

Creates, maintains and updates marketing materials library on website and SharePoint, and product dashboards on SharePoint for all new and modified products.

Coordinates work with external vendors and partners such as print vendors and freelancers when and as needed.

Creates graphics, shoots video and takes photographs for use in various communications.

Works with media ad sales representatives to evaluate opportunities for NJ EDA.

Assist in social media content, planning and posting .

Supports preparation of public information responses for relevant stakeholder requests, including program activity reports.

Assists with production of NJ EDA annual report and other annual reports, helping to prepare and creatively enhance e-documents and online reports.

Develops internal and external product training and related materials.

Provide s project and administrative support, and performs other duties, as assigned.

Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, NJ EDA staff and external customers.

Must complete annual and semiannual self-assessment as required .

Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator , Acrobat) ; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher , Excel, Outlook) ; and social media tools (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogging) .

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and NJ EDA staff

Good understanding of marketing standards and practices and specialized marketing concepts, principles and tactics.

Strong analytic al and critical thinking skills with experience in marketing data analytics and tools . Familiarity with Google Analytics is a plus.

Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and NJ EDA staff .

General knowledge of economic development, financial terms and state government a plus .

NJEDA utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

Associate's degr ee in marketing , communications , graphic design or related field and/or equivalent professional experience

Minimum two to five years experience in business or administration environment

Professional experience in marketing, communications , and/or graphic design preferred .

Experience working with external vendors .

A dvanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience

Physical Demands

Ability to work outside normal business hours, as needed

Travel

As necessary to events, meetings, businesses, etc.

Certificates and Licenses Required

License: Staff are required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position .
