Overview

International growth is a strategic priority for the league. The 2023 season has been a pivotal year for the NFL in this regard with a broad slate of regular season games held outside of the US - 5 games in 3 stadia across 2 countries -- increased Club investment in international markets through our Global Markets Program (GMP), and continued investment in growing the game at every level, from building grassroots participation through flag football (NFL Flag), which will be added to the sports program for the LA28 Olympic Games, to creating pathways for international players through the NFL Academy and International Player Pathway (IPP) programs.

Underpinning this is the work undertaken by the NFL International team, across a variety of functional groups including Strategy, Marketing, Media, Consumer Products, Local Football Development and Sponsorship, to grow fandom, engagement, and our business internationally.

Summary / Objective

The NFL International Marketing Director is a key member of the Global Marketing team and supports the Vice President, International Marketing to drive international fan development, engagement and consumption. Responsibilities include development and execution of integrated marketing plans across key strategic channels and areas of focus in prioritized markets.

This role will require working closely with Global Marketing (central) team, Territory Marketing Leads and Functional Leads of key international markets to support both fan-building and revenue-driving areas of the business. The position will be actively involved in development global marketing strategy with league senior leadership.

Bachelor's degreeMinimum 10+ years experience - sports industry experience is a plusMinimum 5+ years management experienceExtensive knowledge and understanding of modern marketing mix and trends, e.g. digital, social, influencer & creator, growth audiences, 1-to-many and 1-to-1 marketingBasic knowledge and appreciation of American footballPreferred Education and Experience

Experience working internationally and fluency in another language besides English is a plusExperience working in a start-up environment, or having helped establish presence for an international sports league/club outside the U.S. is a plusCommunications and PR experience is a plusMBA degree is a plusQualifications

The role will include management of a 1-2 person team (direct reports)Expected Hours of Work / Travel

NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. During the season, the role will require flexible working hours including overtime (time worked in excess of 40 hours) and some weekendsRegular early morning and late-night calls are requiredTravel required around major tentpoles, including select events and meetings in key international markets

Salary

$135,000-$175,000 USD
