SUMMARY:

The Service Assistant performs general clerical functions, operates office equipment and provides general assistance in the program to which assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssists in the preparation of materials by typing, copying, faxing and distributing materials as requested by the department.Purchases supplies for assigned department; maintains records of purchases.Maintains and updates individual student folders and student records.Types reports and memorandums.Operates office equipment.Prepares requisitions and other District forms.Prepares and handles department mailings as needed.Maintains records and filing systems.Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Governing Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:

High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND six months of general clerical experience.

License and Certification Requirements:

A valid Arizona Driver's License is required.Must possess a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card within 90 days of employment.
