Job Description

The mission of the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) is to protect, preserve, and promote the health and well-being of all Boston residents, particularly the most vulnerable. DUTIES

Develop and implement digital and out-of-home (OOH) marketing strategies aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs) and Start Strong's objectives.Measure and analyze campaign performance to draw actionable insights, by monitoring KPIs, tracking conversions, and optimizing strategies accordingly.Increase consumer engagement across all social media platforms, hit and exceed KPIs.Provide guidance and recommendations on social media implementation best practices.Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to implement new ideas and strategies that drive results.Maintain consistent brand standards and values across all digital platforms.Creative skills required, including the ability to create graphics and posts for social media, design artwork for out-of-home campaigns and print promotional materials for events such as banners, t-shirts, and flyers.Proficient in filming, editing, and podcast production, encompassing pre- and post-production tasks, content development, and podcast branding. Responsible for promoting the podcast through our various social media channels.Ability to collaborate with the individuals of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and positive results.Support the development/editing of our online digital footprint through website re-design (e.g. Wix/WordPress) and management.Identify opportunities to strengthen our digital reach.Design and promote innovative media literacy resources for providers and youth.Prepare monthly reports on user engagement of website and social media platforms and briefing material for the team, as well as recommendations for future action.Integrate a positive youth development approach and trauma-informed framework in the design and creation of our materials.Assist in development and implementation of youth education during annual six-week Summer Enrichment Programs.Conduct workshops and presentations on content- related material at conferences and conventions locally and nationally.Conduct assessment activities for program communications/media campaigns.Support data collection and reporting for program grants as necessary.Provide guidance and recommendations on social media implementation best practices and strategies.Manage and promote the development of our podcast.Create promotional content which can include program trailers, social media shorts, and highlight reels.Meets regularly with the Director and Manager regarding all aspects of program operations, including but not limited to matters pertaining to program staff and other confidential matters.May represent management in grievance and arbitration process, including but not limited to hearing and adjusting grievances, and attending grievance and arbitration hearings.Works in a confidential capacity with the Director.Operates independently and uses independent judgment and discretion to make decisions affecting the program and staff as it relates to program operations/services and BPHC policy.Develop, implements, and manages projects and/or initiatives related to the program for the provision of services and/or to ensure effective operations and compliance with established.Working to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Health Communications, Web Development/UX Design, or Graphic Design; OR Bachelor's plus 3 years of equivalent experience in health communication, web development and graphic design creation and implementation;Knowledge and understanding of web design, social marketing, HTML, CSS, and Adobe products; some knowledge of Javascript a plus but not necessary;Experience working in communications or marketing, social media management, graphic and web design strategy and implementation;Skilled in incorporating a positive youth development and trauma informed framework lens into all aspects of the work, including creation, implementation, and systemization;Exceptional organizational skills are required and demonstrated knowledge of project management;Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as are the abilities to work as a member of a team and independently as needed;Advanced knowledge and experience with MSOffice, MSWord/Excel, and PowerPoint required;Demonstrated ability to work and partner with diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, and LGBQ/T communities;Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills including ability to practice self-reflection, give and receive constructive feedback;Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and have prior experience planning and implementing projects or programs;Demonstrated ability to balance working independently and collaboratively to produce high-quality work and consistently meet deadlines;Knowledge of the impact of structural and institutional racism, and other forms of oppression, as well as strategies to promote racial justice and health equity;Bilingual/multicultural skills preferred.

City of Boston Residency Required, A Criminal Offenders Records Information request must be completed for this position. Shift

35 hours per week.

9AM to 5PM; Monday to Friday.
