The Service Writer will assist the Service Manager in organizing the department and managing daily administrative/shop functions for both Branch and Corporate Service teams. This role is critical to the team's success, as it involves handling service orders, customer interactions, and documentation.Key Responsibilities:+ Assist in opening and closing service orders.+ Ensure proper documentation and upload necessary forms into the system.+ Provide repair and billable charge estimates to customers.+ Coordinate with the Sales team regarding potential billable charges.+ Ensure accurate billing and invoicing of all service orders.+ Maintain updated and accurate fleet folders, including service documentation and photos.+ Organize part information and create barcodes as needed.+ Complete and submit warranty claims as required.+ Prioritize and manage repairs to rental equipment, vehicles, rigs, and tractors.+ Ensure all vehicle inspections are current and documentation is up-to-date.+ Track and organize field failure reports, reviewing them with the Service Manager.+ Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure parts are ordered correctly.Qualifications:+ 1-2 years of experience as a diesel or heavy-duty mechanic.+ Degree or certificate in diesel or heavy-duty repairs preferred.+ Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.+ Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.+ Ability to adapt to a changing environment and work independently.+ Flexibility to work a varied schedule as needed.+ Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.+ Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve continuous exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, and lifting heavy materials or equipment.salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 7 AM - 5 PMeducation: No Degree RequiredResponsibilitiesService WriterSkills+ Customer Service+ Service WriterQualifications+ Years of experience: 2 years+ Experience level: Entry LevelRandstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
