Working and living in Irvine provides a wonderful lifestyle in a vibrant coastal city consistently ranked as one of the country’s safest cities!The Module Design/Validation Co-op should have knowledge of semiconductors, analog circuits, RF design fundamentals, wireless systems, and introductory electromagnetics. The candidate should understand basic RF module building blocks like LNA, PA, switch, filters, inductors, etc. Understanding of design parameters like gain, noise, non-linearity, S-parameters, stability, etc. is required.Exposure to a lab testing setup and environment including commonly used test equipment like network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, frequency generator, noise figure meter will be useful to perform the required job. The Co-op should have used module design tools like HFSS, ADS and layout tools like Allegro. Use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required to perform job duties successfully. Position requires good communication and presentation skills.The candidate will work with a mentor and have the following job responsibilities:1. Tuning RF front end modules in the lab2. Impedance matching using Smith chart3. Evaluating RF parameters like IP3, P1dB, NF, return loss, etc4. Validating performance across supply, temperature and frequency5. Creating 3D models in HFSS and simulating S Parameter files in ADS6. Creating compliance matrices against spec, plotting results and presenting results summaryJob Requirements:Candidate must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) BS, MS, or Ph.D. programMust be able to commit preferably to a Co-op term of January - June 2025.#LI-DJ1The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
